Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Recommended Posts

I slept surprisingly well considering there was a storm this morning I was in a good mood then a shithouse mood because people annoy me then a good mood because I am trying to convince my friend to dress her pony as a unicorn :)

do this!

Well I called EFI today to find out what's happening........and guess what?

Was suppose to get a return call and got nothing

Car was supposed to be ready last Thursday and nothing

I'm also aware that its Jamboree this weekend so if I factor that into my equation my car won't be ready this week either.........

I'm not feeling loved :/

take it somewhere else?

Problem with most shops is they never understand their own workload well enough and agree to time frames that are often unachievable. Might not be their fault its unachievable ie suppliers being delayed etc but they need to account for that or at least explain it when they take on customers.

Customers expectations are also to blame here as they often dont know all the little hiccups that slow down a build and drag it out. It might look easy on face value but as the evidence shows its quite easy for builds to blow out from a couple of months to over a year! That is the builders responsibility to explain everything to thw customer and make sure everyone is on the same page.It all comes down to managing expectations of the customer

Most shops problem with this is if people actually knew how long it took they probably wouldn't do it in the first place or will find someone else that will do it quicker and cheaper. But those that go down that path will most likely end up with a bunch of empty promises and extra costs. Better to be upfront and honest about it.

Morning whores.

Ima cranky farker today. Had F all sleep last night.

Called EFI this morning, spoke to the apprentice again. Told me he has not had time to talk to Sean (dat gotta be BS since you work within 5 meters from one another), car is suppose to go on dyno again today, but there is mega backlog due to Jamboree..........its the same Fkn story...........

but how bout this....................I would of liked to take my car to Jamboree too. Its farkin disapointing and Im really pissed off with everything.

This is a pretty bad look for them. I am strongly considering taking my car to Richo instead, though i did have a rather bad experience there too with time frames blowing out, but Richo appears to have that all under control now.

Although I agree with most of what you said. The biggest issue I see here the increasing lack of communication.

I have to call EVERYTIME to find out where its at. I dont call everyday. Im EXTREMELY patient and already feel bad for calling them up. But thats not right. That is not how you do business.

Although I work in totally different industry, I have many different clients to look after and I communicate with them as necessary. If I say something will be done say next week, but I then realise I cant. I just call them to let them know. Its the least you can do.

Its not farkin hard to just pick up the phone or even just email me maybe once a week, to let me know what's happning. I dont need a full on description a just one line item will do.

I'm not even farkin getting that!

Its the same shit Im experiencing with my previous mech and its really destroyiing me inside.

Im damn frustrated and really angry and its taking its toll me on me now.

I prey to get some results today or tomorrow. If not Im gonna loose my shit.

Its a bad look for Gav, its a bad look for Sean......................I mean WTF IS GOING ON????

Is Richo Richard from All Star tuning? Clint tells me good things about them. However, I think that finding a workshop that can manage their workflow effectively and produce good results is what you should be really looking for.

NOT FARKIN HAPPY :verymad:

Yeah Richo is from all star

Patience is a virtue :)

While I usually agree with this I actually think in this instance ants has been beyond patient already

This is true. I can understand the reasoning for the delay but he has had his car there for a while. When they are assumingly billing everyone for the time that they take, why is one car given preferential treatment over another?

No it's captain flipper :P

Sarp all. The boss and i are having mad head spins all day and feel sick as. Gas leak?

Ants I hope it all gets sorted. I can feel your pain and frustration. Your right aswell the apprentice should have talked to him. And in reality the apprentice shouldn't be discussing it with you it should be the owner or manager or the mechanic you like to work on your car

And a courtesy call or email Should be sent. It's kinda rude. On another note, hopefully it will be done by tomorrow or Wednesday

Maybe if you tell them you wanted it for jamboree they might pull heads, feet, fingers and other objects out and finish it

do this!

I am trying it would be amazing, I wish I had a pony to dress as a unicorn!

Patience today can kiss my ass  Back to cranky... Someone bring me coke and a mars bar stat (or not, I'm on a diet urgh)!!!

All the workshops near me are first in first out unless its a job that is less than an hour to do

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
