What insurance companies are best to insure skyline with?? For an under 25 year old :/

thats going to be tough Kath. I dont know any insurance companies that are going to be cheap to cover skylines for under 25's.

Have a go at Just-Car and Shannons - but be ready for a not so pretty quote

This

Third party minimum. Fully comp would depend on the quote and how much you can afford. Also no point insuring a 5 or 6k car for 2k a year. may aswell put that 2k into a savings account for an uh oh fund. Consider it your own insurance. Insurance is very dependent on personal circumstances.

Don't crash? Get a full comp quote and then go from there. It might be cheap enough on a non turbo etc. I had my GTR insured with Just Car when I was 18 and that was an entirely different story. Think $3k/year and like $4.5k excess. $5k if stolen lol. But the car was insured for 30k so I had piece of mind.

If I may be so rude, how much are you paying for the car? If it is under 7k I wouldnt bother with fully comp.

Yep just cars and shannons are the only ones that will look at you. Shannons you need to have the car in a lock up garage.

5k and Shannon's won't even look at me cos I'm 18... They were so rude to me. Like ohh we can't insure you cos your 18 have a good day. I'm like well then... Bum bums

I got a good quote for $1900 from nrma

Third party sounds like the go. Try not to crash it and save the money on insurance as a rainy day fund. Paying $1900/yr on insurance you're not likely to use seems pretty silly to me.

Go at your own pace, perfect oportunity to get some coaching too from a more experienced driver. Most of the guys wouldn't have an issue with doina a few laps in the passenger seat and helping with some pointers. Confidence and coaching help develop driver skills. That and a whole lot of practice.

QFT ^^

    • Finally have an update on this  Rack came in this week so I did a test fit. You do need the S chassis bushings since the rack is 5mm thinner than the R33 rack. The main issue I foresaw and ran into was one of the hardlines not lining up properly with there it's meant to on the rack. After some gentle coercing and bending very slightly, I managed to get it to fit without any kinks and keeping the hardline pretty much in all of the factory mounting positions. I did have to unbolt all of the soft mounts to move the line around so I could snake it out and bend it safely but it looks good to me for now. I'll update when the rack is fully bolted in and functioning.

    • What are you thinking makes a sequential shit to drive on the street? About the ONLY thing I can think of, is if you're wanting to be able to roll up to lights in third or second and pop it straight into neutral, or you want to come down two or three gears, say out of 5th and back to second, but they shift quick enough it doesn't really matter
    • I'm not a drag racing guy, but that was a good watch. Didn't Ibrahim's car have some cooch! But the big question is....WTF is with so many of them running without seatbelts!
