Who wants to sponsor me? Want to buy a brand new CAS from Nissan. Really don't want to play the guessing game with another second hand one.

Gus Oberhardt on facebook was selling one a week or so ago. Few months old, I think he said 4. Wanted 400 bucks for it. The rb26 and 25 one are the same I think?

I have another second hand CAS lined up with cowdy.

Just hate the things as it will be the 4th CAS to go onto the car and would be easier to get a brand new one but at over $600 I won't be getting one anytime soon :(

4 CAS units? I suspect something else might be at play

I have had 3..

First one on the car died

Second Hand one never worked from when I got it but as I had other issues didn't know it was stuffed

Third one that was Second Hand reconditioned capped itself....

I guess it could be something causing them to died or fail where my car runs like crap.. I am back on the second CAS where I have a miasfire under 3k which is heaps better than the reconditioned unit

positive, swapped between CAS i have and both run differently the one i went back to and currently using runs the same it did before getting a newer one..

Sure it isnt the connectors?

Thinking about buying one of these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CRANK-ANGLE-SENSOR-NISSAN-Skyline-94-98-R33-2-5L-6CYL-J926-CAS-ONLY-RB25DET-CAS-/131008368517?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e80b50f85&_uhb=1

I thought my cas had died at one point, it was a faulty wire in the loom that needed to be cut back and replaced, worked flawlessly afterwards.

If the car changes between running fine and running funny while playing around with the cable you could have the same issue.

    • Finally have an update on this  Rack came in this week so I did a test fit. You do need the S chassis bushings since the rack is 5mm thinner than the R33 rack. The main issue I foresaw and ran into was one of the hardlines not lining up properly with there it's meant to on the rack. After some gentle coercing and bending very slightly, I managed to get it to fit without any kinks and keeping the hardline pretty much in all of the factory mounting positions. I did have to unbolt all of the soft mounts to move the line around so I could snake it out and bend it safely but it looks good to me for now. I'll update when the rack is fully bolted in and functioning.
    • I hear this thread needs an update following its adventures last Wednesday!
    • What are you thinking makes a sequential shit to drive on the street? About the ONLY thing I can think of, is if you're wanting to be able to roll up to lights in third or second and pop it straight into neutral, or you want to come down two or three gears, say out of 5th and back to second, but they shift quick enough it doesn't really matter
    • I'm not a drag racing guy, but that was a good watch. Didn't Ibrahim's car have some cooch! But the big question is....WTF is with so many of them running without seatbelts!
