Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

Fuel injectors haven't arrived, and i'm about to go back to site, so the 6th of march is The day that they and the AFM's are going in, I get back on the 5th and car is booked in on the 7th. Shouldn't be to hard to knock over in the day though. The software seems fine in Trial mode, it isn't cut down at all, just limited to 10 minutes per use. If I could borrow a cord though, that'd save 100 bucks...

Latest musing on my car related shenanigans:

  • Buy consult cable, (this would work, right?)
  • install free Nistune trial software,
  • adjust injector CC and AFM to match,
  • drive car to EFI
  • ?????
  • Profit

Sound like a plan?

That's all I did when I did mine. Just don't go nuts on the way there before the tune.

I'm astonished at the level of risk your taking just to save a few hundred dollars.

Sean will have to recheck EVERYTHING you will have done and in the event something is not right he will have to fix it.

Yes he can easy install AFM and especially injectors, including fuel pump, ECU etc......

Didn't know that, have not been there apart from dyno day (where i was sick as a dog) since ERD closed down.

As far as the ECU goes, i'm talking about changing injector sizes and AFM's. Its a case of putting old and new CC and it scales the map, and selecting Z32 from a drop down list. Not actually messing with any of the ignition/fuel maps etc.

its all at your discretion Pete. All I know is that it's a long way for you to drive the GTR to EFI and if something goes wrong in between..........well it's just a long way

If the nistune scales the map for you, you should not have any problem

I think a long drive is overdue then. Then retune and bring to next happy laps :-)
i agree but bits of car are being reprinted FTM.......plus I'm very busy at work so limited time.

Yes, a full tune with E85 is on the cards ;)

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
