Mugabetown - Whoretownin' At It's Worst.

The whole "big single is easier to work on" argument is really starting to win me over.

Well in that case I'd argue no turbo would be easier to work on than 1 in a strictly "how hard is the extraction setup to work on" where it is having a direct effect as to which setup you choose?

A certain Maxima is very fun to drive because it handles like a hooker on blow.

It's handles fine, it's that pig of a gearbox behind it.

If I didn't know better I'd think you'd shat first and second gear and had it locked in 3rd, with about a 6800 stall.... Strangest driving experience ever

But then i'd have no turbo boosters.

I really want to build a 2.8 and throw on some -5s. Would be an amazing drive!

not wrong their Bunts.

The boyz that I know who runs this setup produces amazing response and power.

However, I would not be putting on -5s but rather insert GTX2863's CHRA's and machine the comp housing to fit standard piping.

A ex Brisbane boy (now lives in Sydney) had this setup on his white R34 GTR made 478kwatw using 1000cc injectors on a 2.8 ltr engine

Here is the power curve

Yeah I often think the same. But the purist in me wants my GTR to have twins. With the stock air box back in place I am going for kind of a stock look, twins helps here too

Yeah saw that, very impressive result! I would just give my turbos to MTQ to frankenstien them again like they did to my current ones. Worked well so I figure it should work regardless of the turbos!

Just spent 20 minutes scrubbing unburnt fuel off of my rear bumper. Good times...

Next time i'll do it the same day, though it could have been worse, i could have left it for 2 weeks.

Cling wrap the rear bar. Then change the cling wrap as necessary. :P

I can't wait till E85 that's for sure
Likewise.

Got any front mount recommendations?

Also, what brand was the oil filter relocation kit you mentioned, JJR?

think it's actually cooling-pro brand (but was oil cooler + oil filter relocation kit)

Not sure on FMIC as I'm running cheapo cooling pro 100mm tube and fin cost like $400 but does job for now

I has returned from whoop whoop. Was another great zedfest :)

Both Cara and I got trophies! I got 2nd in the 600m sprints, Cara got runner up In Car Entertainment at the show and shine :) So the late nights and fighting while installing the setup/retrimming interrior was eventually worth it haha

Strangest zed there, came down from Rocky. 98% z32

Zedfest only happens every 2nd easter, so it is a 'must attend' for us :)

I am one of the old boys now, of all those who attended, only myself and another guy from brisbane have attended 5 zedfests in a row :) There has only been 6.

well that was akward........

went to Supacheap auto and got some fine clay bar door and door trim clips only to see an eldery couple going off their tree at the chick behind the counter about wanting their money back because of a battery that did not work.

Chick behind the counter was an absolute biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiattch to say the very least as she stood her ground. Felt kinda sorry for the elderly couple.

Having said that, the old man said something like this 'youve gota be kidding me..............don't be so juvenile' farkin gold

In the end the manager came back from lunch and sorted them out with a new car battery and problem solved.

Me and a few customers were kinda laughing at the situation but I've never experienced that kind of tension in a Supercheap auto store before.

I just wanted my clay bar and door trim clips

    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
