Hi All,

Thought I'd offer this through as a group buy option so see if anyone else is interested in a set of these.

These will fit V-Spec and V-Spec IIs and replace the factory, rusty ones that are present on our cars. They don't come painted, though I don't think it'd be difficult to do locally.

These are on offer from Anday @ RB Motorsport in the UK, the only people I've been able to find who have this type of kit.

Original Cost: £305 + shipping (which is quoted £120 for shipping) which is ~$900 AUD.

Group Buy Discount: 15% and cheaper shipping due to bulk (and possible GST hit depending on how many are ordered). We need a minimum or 3 to get the group buy.

Group buy price for 3 including shipping to my location in Sydney, NSW (so may be additional cost to ship within Australia) is £333 (approx $570 AUD) plus any import duty/taxes/etc.

Package Info from Andy:

One of the brackets is 1.1m long and the whole package weighs 3.7 kg.

We would require around 8 for sea shipping to be cheaper (I think).

FYI - the group buy price is around what i paid delivered to AUS via EMS last year - when the AUS dollar was much better.

It's a good bit of gear - fitted well. However, it takes a bit of work with a cordless drill to remove all the rivets from the old brackets. RB supply new stainless rivets in their kit - but i recommend using stainless bolts instead - much easier to remove later :-) for any reason.

Bit of an update on the fittings from Andy:

Set screws

16 No M6 x 20 stainless steel bolt and washer

8 No M8 x 30 stainless steel bolt and washer

4 No M8 x 20 stainless steel bolt and washer

‘pop’ rivets

13 No 4.5mm large head rivet and repair washer

26 No 3.5mm large head rivet and repair washer

Might not be, was mentioned we needed 3 to have the discount.

If no one else by the weekend I'll contact RB again and see if anything can be done for two and be done with the GB.

A quick message,

I've emailed a few days ago on costs for two sets - will PM you reply when I recieve it and can take things from there (unless some 3rd person suddenly comes in screaming...now)

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
