R33 GTR Suspension drama - How low is too low??

Hi guys,

Im now facing an issue for the second time that appears to be related to my front swaybar.

Mid last year I fitted Apexi AP Engineering damnper adjustable shocks and HKS springs front and back. The car sits very low at the front which I believe was causing the swaybar to rub on parts of the guard lining and come very close to the sump. I had the swaybars replaced at the start of this year with adjustable whiteline items which fixed the imedimate problem as the swaybar was rubbing constantly while driving causing a creaking/squeaking sound from the front.

Now however I have another issue.

While pulling out of driveways, where the body of the car is twisting as it moves from a slant onto a flat surface, something at the front lets out a shrill screech that sounds like metal touching metal.

Nothing is loose, I have checked everything from the strut brace to the shocks and strut tops through to the engine mount and couldnt see anything wrong. I plan to check for some witness marks on the weekend but until then im looking for ideas on where to look.

Could my swaybar bushes be stuffed already?

nick, culd be the spring flex, loosen up from the place it sits during the car change it's position, I have same thing, my driveway has a dip lead to road, when the car coming down to driveway turn to left or right the spring will make the noise, how do we found out? well, a friend stande outside the car, listen where the noise comes from, and located the noise.

I had a noise coming from the front drivers side of mine, i could make it happen without driving by standing on the door ledge and jumping, then to make it happen again i had to life the car up from the door arch, then stand on it again, then lift etc...

it ended up being a bolt (i think that held my swaybar in) .. we tightened tht about 1/2 a turn and boom noise gone...

Thanks for the ideas guys, didnt think of the spring moving. The problem doesnt occuring at all during normal driving
