Muff
Hi all, Having a little issue trying to find a small knock on my gtst. It seems to be more prevalent when I am turning hard right and going over small bumps in the road. It also does it goings straight. I originally thought it was ball joints so they have been replaced but the noise is still there. I have tried swaping my coilovers from left to right and it makes no difference, so I guess that rules them out. Sway bar bushes look fine, ball joints brand new. no bushes look to be warn or sagging. My next port of call is Sway Bar End links. Let me know your thoughts. Car: Ohlin Coils, stock everything else. thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/433454-knocking-noise-front-left-r33-gtst/ Share on other sites
RANDY
I had something similar after I put Cusco caster arms and some thick whiteline swaybars on. The stock endlinks are a little weak and my whole swaybar had shifted a fraction over to one side, and as the suspension went up and down the caster arm was hitting the swaybar. The swaybars are the thickest non-adjustable ones that Whiteline make for the GTR, but they fit on my GTST. I bought whiteline locking rings, but they didn't fit... in the end, I loosened the swaybar U-brackets a little, and crowbarred the swaybar back to the middle, tightened it all back up and now there is no more knocking. Let us know if this helps! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/433454-knocking-noise-front-left-r33-gtst/#findComment-7075487 Share on other sites

Bronno!
Did it end up being the wheel bearing? Bronson. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/433454-knocking-noise-front-left-r33-gtst/#findComment-7129463 Share on other sites
jjman
even though you replaced the ball joints there is a stack of other bushes that could be worn and knocking and in my experience is the cause of knocking 95% of the time. check on this diagram and you can see how many bushes may be the culprit... http://www.nolathane.com.au/do_segue.php?make=NISSAN&model=SKYLINE&model_final=SKYLINE+R33+GTS%2C+GTS-T+RWD&vehicle=1%2F93-12%2F98 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/433454-knocking-noise-front-left-r33-gtst/#findComment-7130112 Share on other sites
