Oil Leak From An Fitting

Hi all

I replaced the oil cooler on my car recent as am moving it to a new spot, but having tightened up the fitting to check for leaks I found that it had a substantial leak from what I think is the o-ring on the fitting (pic attached with leak circled). I replaced the fitting with a new one (I didn't replace the red attachment on the hose, only the blue fitting) but it's still leaking from the same spot. Now, when tightening the fitting originally I hope that I didn't cross thread it at all - it didn't go on very easily - so not sure if this is contributing.

Does anyone know what causes a leak in this location?

does the fitting still swivel? if so it's not pressing/closed properly and causing the leak.

Do you mean the part in the middle where the leak is coming from? I'm not sure actually, I'll have to check. Can that middle part be tightened?

no it can't.. it presses against the fitting hard to explain, but you need to tighten it down properly so it stops swivelling
