Yeah i'm guessin he has read this thread now, he last logged on on 20/6....

just be careful about any new users you dont know / haven't seen around /without any or very little posts on the forum offering you something.... (what i should have done)

i once bought a mobile off ebay, cod and i got some piece of crap mobile instead of the one i paid for..

i was annoyed and the guy stopped answering his phone..

so i went to his house soon after (address on cod slip).. he was not home his parents were..

they were nice and seemed to realise that their son was dodgy so they paid me back and i gave them the mobile back..

i was lucky, i looked him up afterwards and found out that he had ripped off heaps of people before me!! but so far no one apart from me had tried to pay him a visit.. for example he had sold the same set of chrome wheels off his civic like 4 times or something, and never sent them after payment!

I just bought 2 mobiles off ebay, a motorola v600 for me and a x70 panasonic for my gfriend both at a very good price and brand new and both arrived in the mail without a problem.

With ebay you need to check out the previous things they have sold and their recrd before you buy anything

yeah.. most of the time its ok ive bought a quite a few things off it and sold..

i just got a so-dimm 128mb 100mhz for my laptop... hard to find from shops.. only cost 40 bucks delivered and worked out fine.. guy had +128 rating with no negatives and 17 positives in the last month!!

i guess it just depends on luck.

paypal are waiting for him to respond (which he won't) if he hasn't by the 26/6 they say they will take all action they can to retrieve the funds from him.

email from paypal:

Our investigation has determined that the seller is at fault, and as a

result we have attempted to recover your funds.

$16.96 USD has been credited to your account. This is the maximum amount we

were able to recover. Please allow up to 5 days for this adjustment to be

reflected in your account.

We appreciate your business, and regret this experience.

from reading the SDU threads, looks like the GTR Shop is onto it, and should see some concrete action soon, no pun intended :) but some "concrete" actions with this guy would seem fitting :)

Hopefully the GTR shop people can get this guy locked up, seems like he's on his last chance from the courts and will go to jail if anything can be proven from his recent visting to the forums again.

cheers

  • 2 weeks later...

I have only just found out (thanks to ferni) that I have been shafted by this guy to the tune of around $200. I used Paypal to send the money to his account a month ago and haven't had any responses from him in regards to the whereabouts of my goods.

From all the post in other forums it looks like this bottom-dweller makes his living from screwing people. Luckily I have some rather large friends in NZ that are gonna do some homework and teach him a lesson he won't forget. Thanks to many other people in other forums we have his address and all of his details including his many aliases. If you read this Ray, be afraid .... VERY VERY afraid. In fact you'd better hope the cops catch you before my mates do - cos they'll make your encounter with the Ozzie guy who came to see you look like a European vacation. Or you can give me my money back and you might save your knees. Look behind you everywhere you go and never EVER let your guard down. I don't care so much about the money, but the principle of you flat out shafting people over and over absolutely stinks. How do you sleep at night?

He was arrested.

    • The rain is the best time to push to the edge of the grip limit. Water lubrication reduces the consumption of rubber without reducing the fun. I take pleasure in driving around the outside of numpties in Audis, WRXs, BRZs, etc, because they get all worried in the wet. They warm up faster than the engine oil does.
    • When they're dead cold, and in the wet, they're not very fun. RE003 are alright, they do harden very quickly and turn into literally $50 Pace tyres.
    • Yeah, I thought that Reedy's video was quite good because he compared old and new (as in, well used and quite new) AD09s, with what is generally considered to be the fast Yokohama in this category (ie, sporty road/track tyres) and a tyre that people might be able to use to extend the comparo out into the space of more expensive European tyres, being the Cup 2. No-one would ever agree that the Cup 2 is a poor tyre - many would suggest that it is close to the very top of the category. And, for them all to come out so close to each other, and for the cheaper tyre in the test to do so well against the others, in some cases being even faster, shows that (good, non-linglong) tyres are reaching a plateau in terms of how good they can get, and they're all sitting on that same plateau. Anyway, on the AD08R, AD09, RS4 that I've had on the car in recent years, I've never had a problem in the cold and wet. SA gets down to 0-10°C in winter. Not so often, but it was only 4°C when I got in the car this morning. Once the tyres are warm (ie, after about 2km), you can start to lay into them. I've never aquaplaned or suffered serious off-corner understeer or anything like that in the wet, that I would not have expected to happen with a more normal tyre. I had some RE003s, and they were shit in the dry, shit in the wet, shit everywhere. I would rate the RS4 and AD0x as being more trustworthy in the wet, once the rubber is warm. Bridgestone should be ashamed of the RE003.
    • This is why I gave the disclaimer about how I drive in the wet which I feel is pretty important. I have heard people think RS4's are horrible in the rain, but I have this feeling they must be driving (or attempting to drive) anywhere close to the grip limit. I legitimately drive at the speed limit/below speed the limit 100% of the time in the rain. More than happy to just commute along at 50kmh behind a train of cars in 5th gear etc. I do agree with you with regards to the temp and the 'quality' of the tyre Dose. Most UHP tyres aren't even up to temperature on the road anyway, even when going mad initial D canyon carving. It would be interesting to see a not-up-to-temp UHP tyre compared against a mere... normal...HP tyre at these temperatures. I don't think you're (or me in this case) is actually picking up grip with an RS4/AD09 on the road relative to something like a RE003 because the RS4/AD09 is not up to temp and the RE003 is closer to it's optimal operating window.
    • Either the bearing has been installed backwards OR the gearbox input shaft bearing is loosey goosey.   When in doubt, just put in a Samsonas in.
