Quick question,

I've just got new injectors and fuel rail - the rail is red because it was cheaper and in stock, can someone tell me how visible the fuel rail is under the std inlet plenum?

Just trying to figure out if its worth me painting or not. Everything else in the engine bay is black (even intercooler pipes and joiners) so I don't want a easily visible red pipe sitting in the middle of my engine.

Cheers

Keep it red. Fuel is dangerous and flammable, firetrucks are red for a reason, and your fuel rail should be too. Surprised they're not that color from factory.

At first I agreed, but then realised fire trucks don't explode, now I'm really confused!

You couldn't just look at your engine and judge how visible it's gonna be?

It's definitely visible, and more so if the rest of your engine is black.

My engine is in pieces and has been for almost 3 years. If there was an engine to look at then obviously I would have looked....

And yes i have googled many times. If you google rb25det and rb25det fuel rail have a look at the thousands of pictures of cars WITH FORWARD FACING INTAKES or cars with std rails or simply the rail by itself.

The images don't help me at all - hence the post. No need for smart ass remarks, was a genuine question

Ill give it a scuff and coat of paint tonight, cheers

    • Welcome!  Any pics of the new GTR? You'd be amazed how many people have minimal plans initially. 🤣
    • Hello all I've been lurking around and reading many threads for quite some time, so I figured I may as well join in. I recently picked up a R33 GTR 3 V-SPEC RISERVATA that’s mostly stock. The car has always been a bit of a dream for me, and now I’m slowly starting to plan the next steps — nothing too crazy yet, but I’d like to keep it clean and responsive while pushing a bit more power.
    • You appreciate it could be pinging and not be audible from inside the cabin on the car right?
    • Thanks for all the replies fellas. Gonna finish putting it back together and see how it handles the set up. If it starts pinging it’ll be parked.
    • Well, I can recommend the partial AV system translation CD I ordered from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. Whilst it didn't address the date issue, it has conveniently translated on-screen menu items into English, and now allows the GPS-received time to be offset in hours rather than minutes, so I can display Eastern Australian time accurately ( and bump it by another hour when daylight savings starts ).
