Hi guys, I'm building my r33 gtr and going single turbo. The 3 inch rsr exhuast I have will be removed to make way for a 3.5 inch system from the 4 inch dump. I am planning to order flanges, pipe, mandrel bends ect and tackle it myself. I have a 130amp mig and a metal cut of saw which will more than be up for the job. And I of course will be doing this in my garage on jack stands so its going to be a tight fit ;)

Out of curiosity how many of you have tackeled this before on their own, and could you guys give any useful advice. One thing I am uncertain of is if I should start from the back and work my way to the front?

I will update this thread with more pics once I start dummy fitting the manifold and dump and starting on the thing.

I haven't done it but I have spent a fair bit of time under cars and I really recommend you get some ramps, it will be so much more stable and reliable than stands. It scares me to think of what can happen - bumped car, freak earthquake and it's all over. Ramps are really handy too, even doing oil changes is so much easier with ramps. I bought a pair off ebay for $30.

Yea, defiantly. I actually use truck stands which can lift just that little bit higher and a lot more stable along with a few cinder blocks under the wheels for some added security. I was actually looking for some car dealer ramps for sometime as well without any luck. Conventional ramps won't give me the height that I need unfortunately.

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
