Gday all,

For anyone still interested who hasnt yet made use of the special group buy on Hi tech exhaust systems for the R33 GTST, the offer is still available until stock runs out.

Pricing again is $700 fitted for front pipe, dump pipe and hi flow cat converter in stainless 3 inch

or

$1100 for 3 inch cat back with choice of rear muffler in stainless WITH resonator to keep the noise down.

Many of you have already seen the system as installed on my car.

With the Full Hi Tech system fitted, FMIC, Pod and 10psi boost the car was dynoed at 160kw at the treads.

Feel free to email or pm me for any other info.

INASNT: the 160rwkw was made with standard ecu, fmic and full Hi Tech exhaust and pod running 10psi with dyno sheets

I also dont have pics, and INASNT i know you have no intention of taking up this offer so there is no reason for you to post on this thread.

Let it be clear that this thread is for the information of those still interested in getting an exhaust done. If you want to know specifics msg me.

Anyone wanting pricing on individual components should call (02) 9569 5888 ans ask for Pete as "how much" question has been worn out on previous threads.

Hi Tech is happy to answer any phone enquiry

Cheers :)

Nick

mate i already got the dump front etc on my car!

your 160kw with stock ecu seems a bit high 2 unless your ecu has had a remap and not running a/f ratios of 10.0 but 12.1.

lot of dynos read unrealistic number, example being guy with exhaust, fmic, 12psi with unichip, on unichip dyno read 190kw@wheels but when done on race paces dyno on a skyline dyno day only pulled 160kw@wheels!:D

Look I dont want to start anything but I'd just like to point out that this kind of attitude is completely unnecessary BY BY.

Your original post mentioned performance figures and INASNT responded to those appropriately.

Just remember, this is everyones forum and anyone can reply to any thread they want so long as their post is not offensive.

Oh and inasnt, the power figure BY BY mentioned is easily achievable with the mods listed. It sounds spot on.

Greetz.

i got 155kw@wheels at 10psi, got a big mid range improve and lot nicer power curve rather than overallstock cooler is killing top end power!

Bump!

Come on people...... its interesting that when I first went about organising all this, so many of you put your hand up saying you were definately in and then changed your tune AFTER i put the time into getting it all organised.

Pretty poor form indeed guys :uh-huh:

By BY - I am DEFINTELY going to purchase the Hitech system.. I used their system on my MY99 WRX and it rocked.

I emailed the guys last week but no response - I need to know how much just tou source the exhaust system, as I am in Perth and will have to get it fitted here.

Well done with the bulk buy dude, they are great exhaust systems!!

Conrad

Conrad, thanks for the great feedback, from experience Hi Techs pretty slow dealing with emails, they are just to busy, if you give them a call they can arrange the parts you are after immediately and shippings no problem at all.

(02) 9569 5888 and Pete is the man to talk to. You will need to say that you spoke to me on the forums.

Let me know how you go

Cheers!

Nick:)

I spoke to them prior to your reply, they want to charge me $1800 PLUS fitting... they say they have used up all the units they made for the bulk buy.

I personally think they just didnt want to sell it to me for the cheaper price - not too happy about that really...

Do you have any sway with them? If so, perhaps you can ask what price they would do it for NOT including fitment.

I need to keep the costs down, as I will get the dump pipe HPC coated (made a huge difference in turbo spoolup on the WRX) which isnt cheap, and freight to Perth plus fitting.

MRE: Sorry this offer is not for Mild steel, for the price why would you want mild steel?

Slayer: BIG thanks for telling this, was it pete you spoke to? Im glad i found out, I will get it for you for $1800 - pm me

Cheers

Nick

Slayer: Just spoke to Pete, looks like a bit of mis-coommunication.

They have NOT sold out of the group buy parts, they have just used alot of the pre made systems they had ready, more on the way. He said he can have one ready for you whenever you want it, and cost for you is $1800 plus he estimates $100 for freight.

He apologies for the confusion

Nick

Hmm.. you guys are getting them for $1800 FITTED in NSW. I am in Perth, so fitting by Hitech is not an option.

I have to pay $1800 non-fitted plus freight (obviously ;) ) and then pay another few hundred for fitting here in Perth WA.

Thats pretty crap :)

Thanks for trying dude, I think they need to focus on consistency in their pricing.

I appreciate they can do the fitting inhouse very cheaply to cover costs, but I should still be able to get some discount for buying the system WITHOUT fitting as I have to pay their distributers here in Perth (Perth Exhausts) to fit the system locally.

Thanks

Conrad

Slayer, fitting was being done for free actually therefore naturally if you want someone else to fit it they will want to charge you.so please dont complain about getting a raw deal and inconsistant pricing.

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
