Hi,

Selling skyline for wrecking only. The car failed compliance for minor accident, it can not be registerd under any circumstances, however all the paperwork is in order and everything is 100% legal. This car is imaculate and drives great. Can also sell engine and gearbox separetly.

Serious buyers only, no time wasters. Calls on 0412256676. If you are serious you will call, no emails.

Thanks,

Fonz

Fonz, I understand the car can never be complied and there fore registered, but do you know what else the car can be used for? In particular I guess that there are no restrictions using it for motorsport as rego is not required? or does a car that does not pass SEVS have to be wrecked?

See this is the sh%$ that scares me about the SEVS scheme, I wanna bring in an R33 GTR or EVO 6 but wtf do i do if the car fails compliance due to accident history which wasn't picked up on the auction report?!?! I dont wanna pay 30k and then find I gotta sell it for scrap!! :kick: :slap: :box:

I dont want to separate the car for parts just yet..... Unless you guys can organise a bunch of buyers for the following main bits.......

Engine and gearbox (imaculate does not crunch), SII bonnet, SII gaurds, SII lights, SII front bar and SII interior.

I guess the best thing about this puppy is that its a '97, and you get to drive the car before you buy the engine.......

Hey dude how much would you sell the engine , box , engine mounts and wiring for . if its the rite price would u sell this week and i can come remove all the parts if necissary.

cheers ben

does that law only apply in brisbane tho , because it may be differant to down here in vic?

so we could get the car to vic then comply it?

The SEVS laws are national and therefore taking it to another state would not work.

New pics posted.

the Vin will be cut out before it is sold to ensure that the car can not be registerd, and no one gets in trouble.

The car has no seatbelts, mirros, and comes with stock wheels as all these items were removed by the compliance workshop before the car was handed back.

Thanks,

Are you willing to trade the rims?

ahhh...great minds...I was going to ask the same question

I'm a sucker for white rims and those ones are particularly tasty

I have a set of 17 x 8, 17 x 9, 5 spokes if you wanna trade with small cash adjustment

I will part those rims only if it is at a good price..... they were destined to go on a white r34 soon, but make an offer. Unfortunately the tyres on the rims have very little tread.

If you are interested, PM me with pics of any rims anyone would like to trade them for and how much extra cash on top you can offer (I am only interesed in17 Inch wheels and above).

After all wheels are wheels and if I can make some of my lost money back on this puppy... I wont say no.

Thanks,

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
