Hey Guys! Im new to SAU although my passion is GTR's i have yet had the chance to own one :( nevertheless i thought id introduce my self as i met someone last night at La Perouse who mentioned something about a Skyline cruise happening today, would have loved to come but unfortunately got work commitments. My name is Steve Ezzeddine, im a photographer and i love Skylines. I thought id take this opportunity to let everyone know that next cruise i will definitely be coming along to take some good shots!

Thanks and have a great cruise

Thanks guys....... Had a great day.... Sorry I couldn't make the last part of the journey to Patonga but I had to get home.

Here are a few of my crappy iPhone pics and I'm already looking forward to the next run.

Nice photo Bob, and that ADM R32 looks great.

The first half of the trip was wonderful.

That off-road part really surprised me tho... Like.. RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLLLLLY...

TBH I did freak out a bit, when I finished the off-road part I was about to cry.

It had all sorts of crazy noises around the car even after we head back on normal road.

But after almost an hour of high way road all the noises have gone, the wind must blew all the sands, dust and small rocks away, hope there is nothing wrong with the car.

Still... a great day with a bit of terrifying.

Thanks mate....... Yeah..... I did feel for you.

It was like wearing a beautiful new pair of Italian leather shoes right into a cow paddock of poo........

Anyway, hoping all is well with your car. I'm sure there won't be any rally sectors next run!

Bob.

Hey everyone, thank you all so much for coming along. I really had a great time and I'm hoping everyone enjoyed it as much as I did =) I do apologize for springing the off road section up on everyone. My heart was in the right place and I hope you all realized that. I promise there won't be any off road sections in future cruises.

Although we didn't hit the 40 cars target, a great show of numbers and all great looking cars. Bob, I appreciate you and your friend bringing the ADM's. I know it hurts to put some mileage on those cars. "Edifier," my sincerest apologies to you and your car =( Though I am glad you came along and showed her off =) Hope to see you and everyone else at the next cruise!

Some of the shots I took from the day

At JLM ATM, things are not looking good, all sorts of cracks and bents around body , the front bumper and lip crecked, rear diffuser bented now. Going to have a look under the car now., hope nothing mechanically wrong.

Were you guys given Google Maps of the route as recommended in Post #2?

Any warnings given about off-road section?

Any consideration via pre-planning for low slung cars?

In fact, any briefing offered at the outset?

Receiving multiple PMs of complaint (at Exec level) has not been good. :ermm:

I heard about risky overtaking at the previous cruise down the Megalong > didn't want to be part of this one...

Eugene aka JDM Performance can be PM'd about a replacement front splitter Jun. He's got a couple spare.

Was at JLM with Jun earlier - The rear exhaust flange was hit hard - and bend the rear flange... car been left there to check further if that would impact anything else to the system... The rear diffuser - bent as well as the flat part of the diffuser bent and scratched pretty badly... Front Lip chipped paint and the part where it locks to the bumper cracked...

Overall the trip was ok in the beginning - But the offroad section we were not informed off - I think that was the main issue as we all were not informed, we could have chosen not to participate in the offroad section...

Also would have needed a sweeper that knows the locations at the back of the group... That would help in avoiding people from getting lost.. Jun, My friend Gavan and myself was left behind after lunch, was slow as i had to put my kid into the car seat and Jun was blocked by another car - Gavan and myself waited for Jun before we joined back with the group further up - we just did a guess and drive moment there...

Either way - after much consideration, i just wanted to mention the above so that the next cruise could be arranged better...

Was at JLM earlier. Saw the blue vspec2. Didn't look good. Could had been avoided if we did not head the offroad section. Infact there should have been a choice given to those that attended the cruise if we wanted to head off road or not.

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
