maxim
Hey Guys, I heard today someone mentioning that external wastegates are illegal in the ACT (maybe aus wide). Anyone know if this is correct? Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44283-external-wastegates-legal/ Share on other sites

Aurora
No, i don't believe so. As long as they pass into the exhaust tract before the catalytic converter. ferni
illegal, same as a blow of valve (externally venting) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44283-external-wastegates-legal/#findComment-905146 Share on other sites
Aurora
Well, if it's hidden below everything, makes it hard to see... But i thought if it was plumbed into the exhaust it was fine...emissions and such....same as an atmo BOV. Gus-
so they're nlegal if they're plumed back, so basically a external wastegate is like a bov but after the turbo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44283-external-wastegates-legal/#findComment-905768 Share on other sites
Guest two.06l
so they're nlegal if they're plumed back, so basically a external wastegate is like a bov but after the turbo all externally vented wastegates either internal or external are illegal ie.screamer pipes.the gas must not be vented to atmosphere before the cat or muffler.hope that clears a few things up Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/44283-external-wastegates-legal/#findComment-905786 Share on other sites
