Any updates to the meeting points along the way? I might wake my car up and bring it out but won't be going anywhere near the nasho, imo going through there is asking for trouble.

I'd be leaving from Turramurra so if anyone is keen to meet and head down beforehand, drop me a pm.

I'm keen mate i heading down from newport on the Northern beaches 'pending new rims and tires...'

might be up for this, i havent taken the 'long' way down to the southern highlands in a while

Me plus another car should be there :)

Does anyone use CB radios on cruises?

Mine typically lives in the car so you wont be the only one with one

_-= UPDATE =-_

Ok guys, so i did the run today, and we are completely green to go, and here is the final copy of the day.

MEETING POINT IN THE MORNING.

I went and investigated loftus tafe, and either I was blind last time I was up there, or its become a nightmare. Also those speed bumps would cause problems for most lowered cars. Heres the alternative.

We are meeting up in the oval car park, directly opposite the 2nd entrance to Loftus tafe on Rawson Road. Easily explained, Turning onto Rawson road from the heathcote side, continue until you hit the second roundabout, perform a complete 180, then the immediate left hand car park 20 m from the roundabout.

I will be in Big Bird, a nice bright yellow R34, so I should be easy to spot. Dont stress if you miss the turn after your 180, you can just go back to the 1st roundabout, or take the second left entrance.

ITS REALLY EASY, and you will all see it when you get there.

So I will be aiming to arrive at 9:00 am, to ensure I am the first car there. We will be gearing up/having an overview chat 10 minutes before, and LEAVING, at 10:00 am sharp.

The main intersection lights may be a pain. The plan in place is I will designate the tail car, this car will have my number, and whilst the rest of us wait at the nasho entrance, the tail car will text me when all cars are through the lights and on bundeena drive.

For those of us not wanting to go through the nasho, I timed the run today and an ETA at stanwell tops of 10:30-10:45 is expected if you would like to shortcut to this point, as we will be stopping for photo's. ( however long we all decide )

My report of the nasho includes NO roadworks, NO HWP, and NO defect stations or evidence to a defect station in any shape or form. A nice clean drive.

From Stanwell tops, an ETA Yallah shell/ Albion park at 11:20 - 11:30, depending on our time at stanwell tops/traffic/lights. This route is pretty straight forward, and since we will not be speeding, it will be easy for everyone to catch up if they get a bad light.

Our final stop, the mittagong RSL, ETA 12:30 - 2:00 pm, depending on traffic/lights/fuel stops/tail car.

I have booked out the rear car park for our event, and it would be another great time to grab some photo's before heading in for food/drinks/relaxing. Before we leave I will be ringing ahead to inform them of numbers. The bistro may or may not be open after 2pm, depending on how busy the RSL is, but there is still a coffee/snack/sandwich bar open for lunch in any case.

Can I please encourage everyone to have a look at the route map as linked in the first post, particularly the southern highlands if you are not familiar with the area, some ground knowledge would be advisable. Due to the high content of bad drivers in my area, a bad roundabout and 2 sets of lights, we may get a few gaps. It is a very straight forward trip however, with the key point being turn left at mcdonalds.

I will go over this all again quickly before we leave, but if you have any questions/concerns feel free to PM me, I will also provide my mobile number in a PM if required.

THIS EVENT IS ON REGARDLESS RAIN, SNOW, OR SHINE.

Thank you all for your interest in this event, hope to see most of you there.

Josh.

Lucky bugger having 2 GTR's to choose from haha. See you Sunday

Never mind found the date

If parking at loftus is a nightmare have you considered meeting up opposite kirawee bunnings near Justjap, heaps of street parking there

Its all sorted mate, thanks for the concern. As for distance its probably an easy 200-300 kms. I just dis the run yesterday, and i started in the highlands on a full tank, drove all the way to loftus and did the run, still had a good 40% of a tank.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Not long now. I am open for PMs if any further concerns.

How man kms is it from loftus to mittagong?

For us e85 users :P

Is it this sat or sun cos I cbf reading through the pages on my phone ahha

Caltex at Kirrawee has E-flex if that helps anyone. It's about 5 minutes from the meet point and on the way for anyone coming over Tom ugly bridge from the north

    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way. Simples
    • Ok, disregard my “rate them” comment, sorry for my unrealistic input
