Hey,

I just did my 02 Sensor Test, This is how i did it..

Set my ECU into test mode

warmed the car for about 5 mins (till it dropped to 800rpm)

then i held my foot on the accelerate till 2 grans

held it there for 10 seconds

then released.

in this time the ecu light flashed about 5 - 7 times in about 10 seconds (not accutarly)

But then it was kinda flashing all over the place, like after that it went off for abotu 10 seconds then stayd on for about 20 an yeah im nto sure what all this means.

I heard if it flashes between 5 - 10 in 1- seconds, this is normal

yet ive heard if the light stays on its running lean

but if it stays off its running rich.

In my case it did both of this :S

Anyone able to help me understand?

the only way to test if the 02 sensor is dead that i know of is to remove it (its on the exhaust manifold) and shake it. if it rattles its dead. its only supposed to last 40,000ks. if its dead youll have terrible fuel economy. its been done in the maitenance section probably 10 times in the last month, check out the thread "o2 sensor".

i had bad fuel economy and ive done 40,000 ks since ive had my car and its never been changed so i took the plunge and changed it ($117 part) and my fuel economy increased by about 100ks on a full tank

no problems. ive never done ecu diag so not sure what its like but it sounds very confusing thats for sure. theres a guy who made a consult hack up to an lcd display which shows all the stock ecu sensors for about $300 which could be handy, its in the for sale section. it shows the o2 sensor

Can't recommend the NissDatascan enough. Installed one on my GTR Friday ( by installed I mean I plugged it into the consult port) & works very well.

Displays 8 engine parameters on the screen out of

- RPM

- AFM voltage (2 for my GTR)

- Speed [miles/kph]

- Injector Pulse Width

- Injector Duty Cycle (%)

- Water/Coolant Temp Sensor (°C & F)

- Ignition timing

- Throttle Position (voltage & %)

- 02 sensor (voltage, + lean/rich)

- AAC Valve position (%)

- Battery Voltage

- Flags (a/c compresser on?, Power steering pump on?, Neutral Gear Selected?, Closed TPS)

- More Flags (A/C Relay on?, Fuel Pump on?, VCT Solenoid on?, Termo fans on?)

- More Flags (P/reg on?, Wastegate valve on?, IACV-FICD on ?, Egr on?

Hence you can diagnose most problems straight away. Saves dropping into mechanic & having them tinker around & recommend replacement parts.

I'll take a few photos tomorrow & do up a review when I get hold of a laptop to test the logging.

Otherwise just by one from the wreckers if your pretty sure its broken - there not that expensive.

Sounds good to me..

Something is suss when it comes to my ECU.

I have an RSM which reads my information incorrectly.

I also have a type one timer which also reads my revs/speed incorrectly.

I dont know if the timer if piggy backing off the rsm wires or what?

Ok, I dont know where its connected to on the ECU

but this is what my translation says

red - battery positive

blue/brown - ign 1

green - ignition

black - earth

brown - revs

I didnt install it and thats the translation someone did for me

although looking at it now, it doesnt seem to soudn right

like its missing some wires or something

Green - 12 Volt Ignition

Gray - Handnbrake

Brown - RPM

Blue - Speed

    • Crazy how good the aero bar looks compared to the stock one
    • Yes, but you will need to rewire all the things that are different. CAS, coils, etc. Yes, but there is no IAT. What? You can use anything you like. It just has to be hooked up so that it will work.     Or are you wanting to just plug and play without having to do any thinking/work?
    • It's been a little over a decade since I bought the S15. As I did on my socials, I'll share some of my favorite pictures from over the years further below. If you haven't realised, pretty much all the pictures in my posts are ones I've taken.  In terms of updates, I don't have pictures, but I acquired a near-perfect pair of fog lights from a friend of mine, so those got swapped in for the pair I already had. As for the JZX110, I just got it back from being fixed. A few weeks back, I was on the highway when I suddenly drove over something with very little time to react. It was probably the size of a soccer ball, but it went under the car and banged into the underside pretty loudly. I pulled over and realized the fluid leaking was fuel, and of course, it was right near my exhaust. This required replacing the fuel tank. If you happen to be in the same predicament, thankfully this car shares a fuel tank with the JZS171, IS200, and IS300, so it wasn't too painful to replace. Enjoy some pictures as mentioned above, including the carnage from the fuel tank and a bonus picture I came across which shows how ridiculously shiny the Bugels are on the 110. So many more pictures I could share of the S15 but this will do for today, enjoy.
