Hi all, I am deleting HICAS and while I'm at it I bought new arms the come out of the HICAS lock bar. My problem is I'm trying to remove the original steering arm/tie rod things that bolt to the rear knuckles. I've taken out the pin and undo e the nut but for the life of me I can't get the arm to come off as per the picture below. Any hints tips or tricks?post-98833-0-66960700-1402037199_thumb.jpg

You need a pickle fork, ball joint splitter. That joint is on a taper. They grab pretty hard and need to be forced or shocked off. You may be able to get it to release by holding a 4 pound sledge behind it and hitting it on the front with another hammer. The shock makes the taper change shape and let go. You often need to have something providing force to push the rod end off the taper while hitting it otherwise it may be happy to just stay put.

I thought that may be the case! Thanks
