Thanks for the responses. We'll the hta on twinscroll would be an even better combo would it not?

34geeteetee did you go from garrett gt3076r to hta 3076? And still happy with the results?

Are you running a single scroll 6boost low mount?

Yes it was a back to back swap with awesome results!

No mine is high mount.

Any particular reason you went high mount? What size compressor and turbine housing did you get?

Not really, i likes the way it looked in engine bays and figured it would be easier to work on... If i was to do it again i would have the turbo sitting further forward to make it easier to work on!

The housing is still a 4 bolt 0.82.

You'd probably get lower underbonnet temps and the dump etc is shorter and less obvious looking, but its a pain to fit ,

I was bit disappointed with the twin scroll, quite laggy in my case, maybe the use of twin gates would of made it more responsive im not sure but gave up on it.

Larger than gt3076? Did not realise this, hopefully will be all good :/

Yes, same size cover as the GT35... I thought i mentioned it but might not have :/

Are you on a stock manifold or aftermarket? (Sorry couldn't be bothered going back a few pages lol)

Low mount with a GT35 compressor cover? Good luck getting that to fit, 6Boost manifolds don't allow many turbo's even top mounted.

The twin gate setups are very tight... I would externally gate the turbine housing on the stock manifold if you are heading down the low mount route.

If your going to go a HTA 3076 twin scroll and wan't 330rwkw on pump fuel then I would suggest a T3 1.01 or T4 1.06 twin scroll ex hsg. I would also suggest a twin gate twin scroll manifold over a single ...so then the costs start adding up once the associated plumbing is also factored in.

Running a HTA3076 or even a GTX3076 on a .78 twin scroll hsg will just limit the top end potential of these turbos with potentially additional lag over the Garrett GT counterparts. The biggest GT30 turbo I would run with the .78 hsg on pump fuel would be a T56 GT3076 and event then I'd say it could limit the top end potential of that turbo. I'm not even sure I would run a GT30 size .78 twin scroll hsg on a RB 25 period given your hp goals on pump fuel.

I tried to find pics of the 6boost low mount design and i remember it had to have a bit of the engine mount shaved to fit the comp housing even on the GT3076...

I was going to still run one gate with the twin scroll,.. Would retaining the standard low mount leave more room than the 6 boost low mount? Had anybody heard of hta3076 on standard exhaust manifold?

Geeteetee did you have your 6 boost manifold before upgrading to your hta?

Are you saying the t3 1.01 twin? Or only t4 twin scroll beside t3 twin would be a restriction ?

yes mine was always high mount!

Twin scroll options aren't really available for them either...

Maybe a TS GTX3071 will be a better option for more response and fitting low etc?

Your call with running one gate on a twin scroll setup.

I'm saying either a T3 1.01 or T4 1.06 but you would need to buy the hsg separately such as from GCG or the like.

Personally, if it were my car and I was budget conscious I'd stick with a single scroll setup with the HTA 3076 and run a 3.5 inch dump back to the cat to get the turbo on boost as soon as possible.

I run a twin scroll twin gate setup on my SR20 and love it.....but money was of no concern to me.

    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
    • To be fair it's the other way around. 300kw is boring in a modern Golf or BMW. They are so competent / well-engineered / devoid of emotion that you have to go stupid fast to feel anything. Whereas the <300kw RB still makes all the right noises and it feels good to drive. Can pull off at the lights with the turbo whooshing and the blow-off pssshing and feel like the coolest kid on the block. Just don't look to the side where you'll see the bored housewifes in their shitbox Yaris/Corolla/Camry that kept up because you didn't go fast at all
    • 300kW is so boring in a Skyline, you'll get spanked by someone's mum's Golf with Alibaba pipes, and an email tune.
