I am new to Brisbane and wanting to know where is good places to buy parts for my skyline. Preferably somewhere on the northside.

Right now I am specificly looking for a top radiator hose. My local Supercheap was of no use. But I want other things too like genuine skyline floormats. Went to one import wrecker and all they had was engines/gearboxes, not the little things.

Went to a place that does compliancing. The workshop and yard was nose to tail import cars, looked like the pictures you see of the Jap auctions. They did not have any wrecked skylines. But an awsome supra and evo6 parked out front.

i was talking to someone the other day and mentioned tokyo toys cos nismo bitch never shuts up about them.

They were telling me they were super dodgy or something.. but for the life of me I cant remember who it was...

In the same conversation, I think they reffered me to sub zero.. so that could explain it.

will check out tokyo toys, see what they got.

went into a shop today, Drift King Motorsport (i think it is called something else, but they have a big sign with this on it) in aspley, cause they had a heep of nice looking rims in the window. They sounded very helpful, and am likely to get my gearbox fixed there.

See MR-GTR (Steve). When he's not overseas picking up cars and parts, he's on the GC - I'm getting my next car through him in a year or two.

Go to www.mr-gtr.com - the site is still being put together but it has his contact details on it.

NIZ30 It's Team Drift King Motorsport at Aspley which is part of Superior Tyres. I've got a few things done through them and know the owner pretty well, you shouldn't have any problems with him..

I take it you drive a white R32, I may have seen you before.. I drive a grey R32 around northside.. number plates 002 NVS..

What's wrong with your gearbox..?

A few on the coast, melbourne, sydney..

Maybe try asking for something else that u know they don't have n ask if he can give u the numbers of some other places.???

Ok its all good....

A good mate of mine has a source and is doing my complete conversion for me at a really good price....

Cannot say until job is complete though...

As i dont want to be half way through the job and

the price to be pushed up due to demand...

I has happened to me before...

IE. I made contacts with Asian Auto Spares and they said that

I cant get an R32 front cut for $1600 as they had a few and we

wanting to get rid of a couple... So i made a post and by the time

I went down to buy mine three had allready sold and they would

not do the 1600 price for me... Then i had many angry people

wanting to know why i said they could get one for 1600...

See what i mean...

Well i will say why i dont like them but i cant speak for everyone..

I went to the Auto-salon in Brisbane... Ok they had a stand...

I waited and waited to speak with one of their guys about some customized stuff... The guy behind the counter was a lebo and the guy he was talking too was a lebo (im not racist btw) but anyway... They were not talking about cars at all. They went on and on about some shit and finally when i got to ask my question he walked away and said come back in 5 minutes i need a drink... So i waited and when he came back he fart assed around before coming over to the counter... Then once he approched the counter he sopke and i said i need a price of this and this, roughly, and he replyed " Im not talking to you " and i looked over my sholder and there was another lebo behind me... And all he was interested in was serving his own kind... Thats so f!@#ing rude and i wanted to pull him over the counter and start war... Instead i started yelling and swearing and i got excorted to the side by security and that was it.. I cooled down and forgot about it... I refuse to call them, I will never go there, they make me want to sell my car and buy a Datto 120y....

I will never recomend them to anyone cause he was the one who was racist and didnt want my money... Their too busy looking after their own kind and their own shitty cars...

If i had 50g's to spend on an R33, im sure i could pull sub 10 seconds easy....

My mates cordia runs 12.1's and he has spent less than 7 grand... Total and thats including the car... LOL

I would have but security took me aside and the security was an Aussie just doing his job and he was surposed to kick me out.. But instead he let me explain and his works were " f#@king lebo's" and i just laughed. He told me to steer clear of the stand and so I did and found a better performance shop in the meen time anyway... Thats local too....

    • Actually, that's not entirely true. It's also the same motor in the 1st gen Nissan Cube but they're rare as hen's teeth.
    • Yeah it is always worth testing and balancing actuators out of the box, just set the pressure regulator on a compressor very low (eg 5 psi) and increase it slowly to see when they both move.....unfortunately while you may be able to adjust the length of the actuator rod to minimise any difference, the actual pressure they move from is not adjustable so you need a well matched pair. And yes, the VCAM is probably contributing; the earlier in the rev range they come on boost and the slower the revs build (I think your demo was in 5th), the more you notice it.  Driving at WOT through 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc you will probably never hear it as any shuffling starts and is over super quickly
    • oh they were with that motor, you need to remove the engine to change the spark plugs (don't have to, but it does make it easier)
    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
