yeah hehe oh well, I was never expecting it to be a quick bike I knew what I was getting into with this thing. Guess I know now why owners lighten the bike as much as possible.

Still a tonne of fun on the road :)

I miss it already, can't wait to get back home!

My lids. Haven't been pulled up on the tinted visor yet, I'll put the clear one back on eventually but it just looks so cool like a space helmet with the iridium visor hahaha

Trial fitting my tail lights & license plate lights.

Putting my year 10 electronics class knowledge to good use ;)

Success!

How it should look installed. I'm still gonna get the fenders painted matte black but at least it's all ready to bolt in once that's done.

okay so new fuel tank & side covers ordered for my custom paint scheme, just waiting for them to arrive & I'll get everything powder-coated at once.

Also bought a yamaha windscreen to try it out. If I don't like it I can always put it up on ebay

Looks fun.

My 2 cents would be drop bars and to lose the chain guard, as long as you don't go silly with the chain lube you wont have to much mess and will look sweet.

both are in the works once I'm on my P's

they check your bike for the MOST test and I don't know how anal the instructor will be on the day ;)

Oooooh I'm loving this!!!

My mate has a 79 (? I think) Yamaha SR500! At first glance at the topic title and I was expecting a similar vintage.

I miss the hell out of my bike. I'll live vicariously through this thread. :D

mate I've already got enough headaches with my '76 Zed, at least this has the appearance of an old bike with none of the mechanical gremlins ;);)

A few more things came in the mail today

Headlight Grill

Just a quick update, fitted the front & rear fenders to check for fitment & making sure nothing rattles. Other than that I added a little leather toolbag so I can hold my disc lock & helmet lock without needing a bag or big pockets with me.

Still waiting on my windscreen, spare fuel tank & side covers than I can get all my parts painted. Can't wait!

I'll be on my L's for 3 months this coming febuary so I'll book my MOST test for then, I want to get off my L's asap!

Has it got carb or fuel inj, and when are cams coming????

You should be able to get the thing mambo'ing nicely with 400cc.

My KLX250 went well after I got a exhaust, 300cc barrel and piston and de-restricted the carby.

FI, it's a fun little thing to putt around on around town. I'm not aware of any aftermarket cams for the 2014 model, I will look into this

Just get a Hayabusa.

I'll probably end up on the wrong side of a concrete barrier hahaha

YZ450-f Transplant?

....

No, wait!

CR500 Transplant!!@!!!

I've heard of owners with old school Sr400's converting to 600cc by changing the piston & boring out the cylinder? More research required.

Either that or look into a Kawasaki W800 when I'm on my fulls

Also...

Bought one of these on ebay today $250 delivered with aussie warranty. Just for blackbox recording in case shit goes down. No external mic input so no vlogging for moi ;)

Anyone can go to a shop and buy a Hayabusa when they are on their blacks, I believe its more of a cool little custom bike whilst on their L's rather than some stock unexciting POS or a bike that can do 300kph to the shops.

But then turn the Hayabusa into a old school street fighter and you may get my attention.

Not that I could ride it with my dodgy back.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
