No dyno this week I've got a hold of an old fella that's going to work his magic on my carbs and I've got to get a fuel reg and get my dizzy re graphed again it needs abit more advance down low for the bigger camshaft

Looks to be running pretty rich , and in answer to the earlier question, run a decent duct up from the side of the Rad and drill holes all reound the Filter body helped a lot as did inverting the lid, this however depends on whether it was one of the big sumbitch oil bath aircleaner's .

Yeah it's running pretty rich it's spitting fuel out the exhaust, I'm getting the reg tonight and playing with the fuel pressure, I've been told to run about 2-2.5 psi, apparently dellortos don't like a lot of fuel pressure.

3-5 PSI was normal for the average red motor mechanical pump, Fuel pressure shouldn't be an issue as the float in the Carb should be regulating properly, I'd look at the possibility that the float needed seats are not sealing 100 % as this can manifest it'self in a number of ways or there might be interference in the Choke bypass circuit that is loading her up with fuel at idle.

The audio above sounded pretty clean so it is likely a low speed circuit in the Carbs that needs tuning and balancing.

Just had another listen to the Idle video and I concur the suspicion you have the low speed circuit loading it up and the timing at idle seems off too (based on the sound)

Thought I'd put these pics up for the old boys on here to reminisce on the old day, few years ago I pick up a old roller sports sedan lc/LJ torana, just because it looked awesome, well last night I found some pics of it back in it hey day racing, this is reaching back in 1980post-134876-14466011098864_thumb.jpgpost-134876-14466011243268_thumb.jpgpost-134876-14466011598339_thumb.jpgpost-134876-14466011695511_thumb.jpgpost-134876-14466011806746_thumb.jpg.

I haven't pulled it out of the car yet, but I'm pretty sure it's because the sump has no baffles in it , saving up for a ASR sump, , also doing a cash job on a vk and getting an accumulator setup off a xu1 for my motor. Should help it for next time

I'm not a real fan of rb30s in toranas but I'd put this motor in it for sure haha attachicon.gifImageUploadedBySAU Community1446774077.957018.jpgattachicon.gifImageUploadedBySAU Community1446774092.454850.jpg

I picked up my sump today, I was told it was off a bianti series xu1 race car, I'm pretty happy with it.

post-134876-1450247873666_thumb.jpganyone know why it would have all the tiny Alan keys along the side of the sump?post-134876-14502479277795_thumb.jpgpost-134876-14502479627485_thumb.jpgi don't no why they have heated these little spots for???

    • Mine is all -12, I’m running a dry sump in a billet block though
    • HG's high flow is not "bolt on". The core is shorter, moves the comp cover rearwards in the engine bay. means you have to deal with the inlet plumbing a little bit. This is probably something to consider with every "bolt on" turbo anyway.
    • HyperGear. Just get a high flow of the stocker. Good, reliable, and should bolt on. Yes it will want things like a retune once done, so you need to factor this in to your spend too.
    • Hi. Iam looking for some "cheaper" bolt on turbo on RB25DET NEO. I do not want "big" power just better reliability than the stock turbo which is "fot now" good but is old and i do not think it has "easy" life. One the Skyline here running some "temu" china Turbo but i dont trust those... Thanks!
