Hey guys so i recently fitted a bride euro2 seat and a bride rail into the passenger side of my r34 gtt.

The rail that suits a euro2 is a Bride MO type. I have a RO type with the MO conversion plates fitted to make it suit the Euro2 seat shown in the link bellow:

http://www.nengun.com/bride/mo-adapters

The seat position is now at least 2cm higher than the stock seat making it feel like a bus.

Is there any other rails that sit lower, or any other way to position the seat lower?

last resort id go would be fabricators cutting the rail up!!

You literally need every little bit you can to get the seat down low, especially on the passenger side. Any adapter will make you sit on the roof. Only 2 options would be get just the MO type rail (check it out to see what it looks like first too, as it may still sit you kind of high). Or, get one fabbed, which is what I did with my Gias II's, and it now sits lower than standard seats.

i was told the RO and MO are similar in height :(

who fabricated your rail? and how much did u pay if u dont mind me asking? :)

They look like they would yeah. Actually fabbed it myself. So just the cost of some 3 mm flat bar in mild steel.

Shoijiki, was that fab from scratch or a modded bride rail to sit lower?

Modified Chinese universal rail. It was to "suit" R34 GT-T, and it did bolt in! However your head would touch the roof essentially! So all the flanges were cut off and the frame trimmed down and re-welded to sit as low as is possible without modifying the floor pan. The passenger side cannot sit as low as the drivers side since the floor has a large bulge in the RH rear area. However it's still much lower than stock with the Gias seats. Also I extended the seat belt bracket on the rail to be 5 cm higher too, as it feels like its too far down on the Bride/Uni Rails.

I can show you some quick snaps of the modded rails if you like.

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
