Is This A Bad Amount Of Corrosion?

Just bought this on the cheap want to know how bad this is and is it fixable ? I realise it's a pretty dumb question just want to be sure, I'm pretty sure it's f**ked..

You would need to use a treatment to dissolve it and then flush out all the crap left behind if the engine is in a car.

Most engines have it to some degree or another....

And dont forget if its in a car the radiator is surely blocked.

If its a engine thats out of the car and your rebuilding it, get the block hot tanked and new welsh plugs fitted, its nothing to worry about as it will all be removed.

Ok nice how would it run as is if I just flushed it .. Do you reckon it would overheat quick?

Are you pulling the engine apart? if yes as stated get it hot tanked and it will be fine, it's pretty normal for corrosion like this in engines, especially cast iron blocks

If you're not planning on pulling it apart, make sure you replace all the parts that you can in the water system, new water pump, thermostat etc... once it's back in the car make sure you use a coolant flush once or twice before really driving it
