It is odd, though it looks factory to me. Still, if you can score a space saver along with the correct foam insert that sits inside the space saver for your toolkit, that'd be way better because no amount of sealant will fix a split/ripped tyre.

Thanks for your replies, guys ! Yes, I thought it's odd as well. I was surprised that there's no spare  . Found out a bit information from Infiniti G37 website but for convertible one:

"If you have a 2009+ Infiniti G37 Convertible and you happen to live somewhere other than Maryland, then you probably have a Tire Repair Kit in your trunk instead of a spare tire. Why is it this way? No idea. Someone within Nissan made the decision based on space, weight, or cost." ?!?

Just PMed GeeDog, hopefully the 350GT spare would fit.

yes. mine did not come with spare as well. those new kv36 does not have spare tyre. it has a portable pump and tyre gel can fix small leak and puncture. but the regency will take them all out. make sure you ask your import agent to get them back for you~!!! Mine were missing and my agen got similar ones out from a stagea~

I think it's fair to say it was purely to save on cost. I'm pretty sure the factory Enkei space saver rims are a bit more expensive than some sealant and a pump. ;)

I thought so too ! Would love to have the actual tyre rather than the kit !

Mine still there, probably they forgot to take them  .

Lolz I just drove the car back from Melb without realising I didn't have a spare tyre. :yucky:

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
