A start to a new era for my fruity bits.At the end of 2014 i did my last drift prac in my black 32 drift car its haggard bent up stretched and warped. I managed to blow a diff a power steering rack a intercooler and damgae 4th gear.

AT this stage i came to the conclusion it was time to put all this gear into something else something i could driver wenever i wanted and suited me.

So the seqrch began vls and 31s were included in my search for a new project,About 4 weeks into my search a clean maroon and black 32 shell came up for sale for a good price legit plates and clean exactly what i was after but of course it had to be 250ks away from were i live.

A quick phone call to a mate with a decent diesel 4x4 was made he was keen.

The following weekend we headed off for a day trip to goolwa to pick the new rig up.

We arrived greated buy the owner i was surprised in how clean it was for the price but yes it was just a shell with interior thers alot of work to go to get this back on the road.

Lucky i have a car full of goodies.

We proceeded to lift slide pull tug the car up onto my trailer.

A bunch of lads came threatining to bash the guy i purchasing the car off of was quite a interesting day and made quite worried about me car getting smashed before i even got out the guys driveway.Thankfully nothing was broken.

We got the car home slid it on to a stack of tyres in the shed.

Aftet one day after work i had front rear cradles out of the black one ready to be transfered all suspension was unbolted ready to go across.

Within the week i had the motor and gearbox out ready to transfer it all across.

All suspension went in a breze first issue was noticed wen i put my wheels back on with standard guards my wheels were no were close to fiting as they were on my black one.

So swapped me xd9s and rgteks for a pair of 33 gtr wheels.problem solved so i thought 5mm out all guards issue is can only fit 235 on the rear im after 265 rear.so rim shopping time soon.

Motor and box goes in no issues needed to find some different cooler pipeing as previous setup was a flipped cooler through tye headlights.

Fuel system was all swapped over without any issues all was coming together .

3 months in the car was ready for its first start car started and was running sweet quick spin around the block put the car back in the shed a quick shed skid then ended up with the radiator through thefan as i dindnt put the brackets back on so there goes me 3 core copper rad not happy but hey the cars running for that i must be happy.

A new alloy 3 core 52mm radiator was purchased. At this stage i thought i had the car pretty well sorted

It was time for rego , rego went on and decided to take it for a drive to mt barker about hr n half from home.

The start of the drive was pretty good the car did seem a bit surgey and jerky but nothing to serious further in to the drive it started to back fire and brake down like a vac leak somewere pulled over checked everything nothing found thought about possible coil pack but there new spitfires. We began the slow no boost low rev drive / limp home.

The next day i went to check the plugs to try and get a idea of what it was doing one was a bit more fouled then the other no real idea as to why untill i started to put the coil packs in i had noticed a crack

Bam the issue was found so on to jesse streeter i got and purchased another set of new spitfires.4 weeks later they arrived in they went yes the car was better but still not right.so more searching began i found my coil pack loom had a slice in it and some wires out of there insulation so on the e net i go order a brand new coilpack loom, yet again it arives and on it goes little to no change i was pretty rattled at this stage.Fuel pump cas and afm replaced no changes were had.I had one last idea that i hadnt checked voltage to the fuel pump it was at 9v yes found my issue yea it made a hell of alot of difference but yet again still jolting.

Money was saved then off to jaustec for some small problem solving and then why not time for e85 while its there.Receive a phone call saying my cooler has a hole in it isnt holding any air at all , couldnt beleive i missed it.my problems were solved the following monday i purchased a new cooling pro intercooler through sleeka spares of i went to jaustec to give thwm the new cooler and some different silicon joiners to suit.

Car goes back on the dyno with the new cooler more problems are present its still jolting and playing up problem was solved with the problem being the tps.It was tuned but still has varying afr so a new fpr turbosmart 1200 is going to be fitted

After 12 months from purchase the car is finally back on the road in good health and behaving as it should. Comes on hard spins up every gear bar 5th comming onto boost.

So the builds all over finished and done..

HAHAH Jokes

To start with i have to install the new Turbosmart fpr1200 and get it back to the dyno to have the tune cleaned up with a steady fuel pressure.

The gearbox needs to go off to 1110 to get looked over takes time to select 1st and wont selwct 4th at hi revs.

The sump gasket needs redoing it has a slight weep from the feont corner.

Im looking for a new set of rims to allow me to accommodate some 265s up the back currently running 33 gtr rims looking for something concave in the 9.5 +45 region.

Have a set of HFM caliper adapters so i can run 33 gtr discs up front will be running them with a qfm a1rm pad.

Im wanting to get a alloy catch can to mount up behind passenger strut tower as well as a alloy power steering resivour to replace my ziptied r33 item. Both with all braided lines.

Move the battery to the boot to allow me some more space up front for my filter relocator then connect up my moorso oil accumulator setup that i have, all with electronic valves.Following up after this have the engine all resprayed in same colour as the car.

Redo my dump pipe in a 3.5" stainless its currently a bit of a bitsa,ALong with replacing my intake pupe to a 4" pipe with a r35 gtr afm to help neaten things up.

I have a complete gtr rear end diff shafts and hubbs there waiting to go in to replace my r200 shimmed gear , so as soon as that goes the gtr gear will all be installed.

Interior wise the car is pretty need but could do with a nice set of gtr seats.

First grip day is planned on the 9th of jan at mallala will be interesting to see what time it can run c if it can run with the big boys lol hoping for 1.25 .

Havent done much grip work and will be on basic brakes and 235 kenda kr20a hopefully they hold up

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
