Finally, I have organised a deal with Unique Autosports (UAS) on the Series 3 GTR Lips.

Now, some have had concerns about the quality of the UAS lips.. and going by the lip we received yesterday, it's actually not that bad. the only concern was on the left air vent, the finish could have been better, (which means the panel beater will spend a little extra time to fill it up) the rest of the lip is very nice, even the factory black ripple finish looks awesome. I'll try to organise some pics on Monday, and include the slight imperfections.

John from Unique Autosports (UAS) is offering the following for all SAU forum members: whether you order 1 or 100, there is no waiting for numbers.

$240.00 +(delivery, approx $50-80). (normally $295.00)

Turn around is usually within 2weeks.

So for those lucky enough to be nearby in NSW, that $240.00

All you need to do is mention you saw the offer on SAU forum.

Cheers

Simon

NOTE: The pic below is a Genuine GTR Series Lip (~$1300) the UAS Non Genuine Fibreglass Lips is the same minus the blade in the air pockets. As soon as my car is finished I will post up pics.

Hi Blitz, sorry mate at the momet just in fibre glass, no carbon fibre.. But I have the carbon fibre wing blade on my gtr, which I'll probably be taking off when I sell the car.. Definatley looks horn, and when I do I'll keep you in mind.

OK just picked my car.. and have to admit, leaving it in the factory black looks might awesome. Had a chat with my mate the panel beater, and asked him what he thought of the quality of the lip, an how whether it gave hime trouble fitting or not. He reckons he's seen much better finishes, and assumes that the UAS lip mould was probably taken from a busted lip which was pieced together again.

The panel beater spent a bit of time making shaping the lip to make it look schmick, which in the end, both he & I were both rapt about. Overall, the lip looks awesome, and for a measly ~$500, including the lip, delivery, fitting and spraying it was definatley worth it, just pray I don't go scraping out of low driveways..

PS: I just picked the car up, and it's p!issing down rain here in Melbourne. I'll try to take some pics over the weekend.

We actually bought this mould from QLD and no it is not our normal standard but not too bad. I did mention this though to meshmesh and glad it is all OK. We could do in carbon but might not be too good as tight bends and cost at least twice as much.

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
