Hi guys how are we all?

I have a blitz sbc type s (single solenoid with the dinky lil finger conntroller)

I cannot get it to behave itself for love nor money.

Im not after mega figures just a stable 10 psi ish.

It is installed correcly as far as i know (e.g it works) my solenoid is tapped in as close to the turbo as pos maybe 6" of hose on both pieces solenoid attached to wheel arch with dampening washers so im not living with zebedee. The controller itself tho takes its feed from the plenum but does share the line with the boost gauge and turbo time. I have full vacuum.

Now then im currently playing with 2 setups. My low is currently set 35, gain 5, p gain 0 which i know isnt great i get around 9.5 psi of boost but it does drop off a bit.

My high setup is something like set 30, gain 20, p gain 15. That is a bit off its head in 4th and 5th it gets 9.7 and kindo holds but in lower gears im getting spikes up to 11.1 which obviosly sets my warn and back off (20) off and never hits high boost correctly.

Im basically fairly sure my engrish manual is.......weeeelllllll vague.

If i follow the manual i set my boost (35) then adjust gain to allow the turbo to spool and thats it overboost as soon as i put 5 in.

I cannot find anybody else's settings for love or money, or even if im doing it right. Its all just sooooooooo vague!!

Am i to expect a certain amount of overboost?

Any help/example settings gratefully recieved!

For you 0.7 bar setting increase the phone gain so it's the same as your gain.

As a starting point always have your p gain the same as your gain. If boost drops off heaps up top, increase your p gain.

Think of it this way.

SET = how much possible boost the controller will allow

GAIN = how fast it comes on

P GAIN = Post Gain

I prefer to supply the boost from the compressor housing rather then the plenum.

That's not the way I was reading how he set it up. My understanding of what he said was.....

Boost source = close to turbo.

Controller boost signal (ie that used for displaying boost on the controller) is sourced from plenum.

Which is correct.

If my understanding is faulty, then, yes I agree with Kiwi.

I read the same as GTSdoseboy

Actuator pressure source = turbo

EBC display reading = plenum

sounds correct, settings need tweaking.

I like the older controller.. none of this P GAIN crap lol

wow thanks guys! i so should have joined earlier! im a UK chap and if im honest i rate you aussies as the best guys for skylines. Great products, great advice and mostly hilarious how to videos on youtube!

i've been lurking in the background stealing your info for a while.

yep you have read it correct that is how i have it setup and its nice to know im all good there.

that p-gain advice is great, nowhere does it mention this in the Engrish translation manual. it also confirms why when i had my gain at 0 and p-gain at 0 whilst not an ideal setup, behaved well.

its also nice to know i havent gone off the reservation with my settings, you would think you were asking about someones mothers vagine in the uk the amount of responses you get on this subject.

thanks again guys, and (sadly for you) as a result you will hear a lot more from me :)

i have a set of Gen7 celica seats i am going to do a fitting guide for at some point to give a little back. Cheers guys!

OOPs reading too fast (or brain too slow)

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
