Aluminium FMIC piping

I am finding it very hard to get 90 degree bends. Does anyone know a company that sells them or can bend them mandrel?

I know of one, but they are in melb!

Just look up alloy welding places where u r, and they should be able to help you. Even places that do work on boats should be able to help. I took my IC to a boat place and they did the welding, and they could have done mandrel bends for me, but it wasn't really worth it!

not many people do ali mandrel bends, most places only work with dounuts and cut them up. I got some bends done for me but they were a bit thicker than you normally use.

how much cheaper is the alimunium pipe compared to s/s piping for fmic's?

aluminium seems to be about the same price as stainless stuff.

Aluminiium is so much lighter. I reckon by the time you do all of the piping you would save close to 15kgs.

I have an exhaust place doing some research for me. Let you know how I go.

15kgs, what type of pipe are you using it must be 10mm thick. My long mild steel pipes would have only weighed 5kg I think, ali is lighter but also transfers heat better, this can be good and bad.

I use all alloy piping and it is very very light. Made by Micks Metalcraft using donuts and very well welded.

They can make the piping for you... depends what you want to spend otherwise Hypertune could sort out for you...

This guy was selling mandrel bends for IC piping at the Dyno Day today. I had a look at his warez and it was all good - Dunno if it was ali or not.
