Hi guys I've got an interesting situation. My v36 doesn't have a centre brake light. There is a cut out in the parcel tray but no plastic or light unit. Is this common? Or has my brake light been removed at some point

First I've heard of that. Take a look at the underside of the parcel tray and see if you still have the respective connector on the harness there too. If you do, then I can only guess it was removed for whatever reason and deliberately or otherwise, never replaced.

Did you import the vehicle yourself or buy it through a local dealer/private seller?

Or maybe you had a factory wing which the 3rd brake light was mounted in...

My R33 sedan had a blanking plate in the parcel shelf where the light should have been, and LEDs in the edge of the spoiler.

Really? So that parcel tray light was an option? Mine has the factory colour coded wing (rather than that crappy little chrome piece) and it has the parcel tray light in there too.
