Driving home last night with my girlfriend on ATHLON DRIVE going up the hill after the last set of traffic lights towards tuggeranong, I was driving in the left lane and the ss ute flys! past me on my left side in the Dirt/rock on the side of the road nearly loosing control flicking rocks all over my car CHIPING MY WINDSCREEN AND FRONT BUMPER!.

A couple of seconds later the TWO TONE SILVER r 33 follows him doing the same thing driving through the dirt, and once again flicking up rock towards my GTR. I am so pissed off at both the driviers! If any body knows who drives a two tone standard R33 silver in colour pls let me know as I wish to have words to him.......

The SS ute was that green colour with some sort of business logo on the rear panel.

They showed no respect for me or the other drivers, and I thought I'd never see a skyline driving like such a moron.

Id expect it from the SS though.

Mick.

im not surprised that a skyline dude was driving like a di*k, there are a fair few of them that do, basically cause they think they own a skyline they are the sh*t and act hard.

but yeah i cant say im surprised at the commo.

but i really feel for you mate, your R33 is really nice so its a shame to see something like this happen. was it not possibble for you to chase them down? but i guess because of the risk of being done for speeding is too great, and you wouldnt be any better than the other 2 guys in the end.

any more info on the 2tone R33? what 2tones are they? and how big was the sign on the ute? im guessing there was a car next to you in the right lane? otherwise they would have used that..... right? any ideas on how fast they were going?

once again i feel for you mate and its b/s it happened to anyone, let alone a nice GTR

veilside, i think mick's talking about the two tone with the silver up top, grey on the bottom.

bad to hear this mick, hope the GTR isn't too badly scratched and chipped away.

don't know why the idiots would drive like this though. surely they'll cop it once it comes around.

ah yeah gotcha Andrew.

the was a silver/grey 2tone being worked on at Joes place (skyline performance) last week, but there are a few around canberra so ur chances of finding it without a confession are slim at best.

and theres no way its anyone on our forums cause we are all safe and considerate drivers. :bs!:

damn i hate people that do that. fair enough having the odd run against someone but not when other cars are around and especially if you are going to be driving like a tool eg having to dodge cars and go a little off road like this one :D shame on the driver hope it isnt to bad mick

Yeah I managed to get involved with a ****wit last night... basically as the story goes, they failed to give way when they should have (read: pulled out right in front of me) and as a result I slammed on the brakes but went into the back of them :D not bad, was a "gentle rub" it sounded alot worse than it was, but to top it off, the ****wit took off across commonwealth avenue bridge!! so i gave chase but backed off when they ran a red light near parliament house and almost wiped out another car (there was a fair bit of traffic going through the intersection, so i wasnt going to attempt running it). It was a red late 80s early 90s camry (the old boxy ones) and they even turned their lights off so the numberplate light went off and I couldnt see it.

So I then pulled over to check damage and was quite relieved to only find a few scratches, chips and marks on the front bar. When it happened it sounded a hell of alot worse like I had demolished the front of the car (it wasnt a hard hit, just a nudge/rub).

EDIT: and on a side note, if i ever find out who it was, im going to beat their ****ing head in for being such a wanker (ok ive finished my venting now)

That really pisses me of AMARU, just hearing things like that.

I hope you do catch up with them, and when you do, give em one from me.

Some guy did the same thing to me about 3 months ago!

The cars that over took me the other night would have been doing at least 160kms.

I gave chase to the GTS and caught up to them easy...hehehe. but he was driving like such a wanker that I thought he might ram into the side of me. Thats the problem with dring a nice car, your always worrying about it. If I had been in one of my other cars i would have ramed him!

I just over took him after the round about near red rooster and gave him some abuse out the window.

It might take time, but I will find them.

Thanks for the support guy's.

Mick.

p.s there's minimal damage to my car, but im more anoyed at the drivers.

sh*t nick, sorry to hear about that, im really shocked u didnt catch them, u shoulda run it down in a few seconds!?!?!

mick: did you catch his plates? i figured u would have just caught him, got his plates and reported it to the police, but in the heat of the moment its the last thing on your mind hey?

how long did it take you to catch up to him?

I had caught him by the time I was at red rooster round about! I did get the plates of both cars but I forget the plates for the skyline.

The SS plates were : SS 353 :

The police would have done nothing, sometimes people have to get pay back them selves.

haha that last bit sounded like a tralier for a movie: Sometimes people have to get revenge.......for themselves!!!! lol

i kinda agree with that except i did it on behalf of p1r4t8r, moohaha.

just dont do anything to silly, but i still dont like ur chances of finding it, without it having any distinctive markings.

The camry was chopping in/out of traffic trying to get away from me over commonwealth avenue from civic heading towards parliament house. I caught him within 100 metres but just stayed behind him as to not cause an accident. When I saw the redlight I pulled into the lane next to him (silly me, expecting him to stop) and was about ready to go off my nut at him, when it occured to me he wasnt slowing and was going to run the red light. There was alot of traffic going through the intersection and a car had to slam their brakes on and locked it up trying to avoid the ****wit. After that I decided it was better to have a munched front bar (I hadnt checked the damage yet) than risk my life and the lives of others running through the red light chasing him.

Im just happy it sounded alot worse than it did, I can live with a few scratches, it just pisses me off the he knows I hit him (he got pushed up onto the gutter, thats why I was suprised there wasnt more damage!) yet decided to take off rather than face his actions.

What exactly happened for those that know civic geography, as youre coming out of civic theres an on ramp onto commonwealth avenue bridge. Halfway up the on ramp theres also another lane that comes onto the on ramp that has to give way to you. He didnt look like he was going to stop so I slowed down. Then he slowed down and looked like he was going to stop, so I went past at about 40km/h and just as I wa about to come up along side him, he put his foot down and went out in front of me, I slammed on my brakes (which locked up in the wet... gotta love Nissan ABS) and he also put on his brakes which is the only reason I went into him.

Seems like the dickheads were out with a vengance this weekend... makes me reluctant to even drive my car anymore if thats the kind of shit that happens. And yeah Mick, if you find the owner of the skyline, give him a hit for me, for being a grade a wanker.

HAHA oh man, I just read the first thread of this and started thinking to myself 'I wonder if the ute had the plates SS-353...then read a little further to reveal it did :) He is one crazy bogan that guy, and that aint the first time he has jumped the median strip..I was behind him going down the parkway to tuggers, and he couldnt get past the traffic, so like any reasonable intelligent guy would do, he hangs it to the left and floors it, the freakin ute is almost on a 30deg hill going past the traffic.... I get through the traffic eventually and what do I see, him doing it again in the distance lol.

    • Back again. I returned to Japan in Jul/Aug to spend time with the car on my birthday and remind myself what all the sacrifice and compromise is for. It happened to line up with the monthly morning meet in Okutama, which I have been wanting to go to for a long time. It's a unique event at a unique spot with really rare, interesting, and quirky cars. It's where all the oldheads and OGs gather. The nighttime scene at DKF certainly has its place and should be experienced if you're into cars, but there's too much bad attention and negativity around it now. IMO the better time is Sunday morning at DKF or Okutama; it's more chill and relaxed. I'm glad I was finally able to go, but not sure it's worth the drive from all the way from Nagoya immediately the day before, unless I was already staying in Tokyo for the days right before the meet, because you have to wake up quite early to make it in time. Funnily enough though I didn't drive the car all that much this trip because it was just too damn hot. While there were zero issues and running temps were nominal and the A/C was strong, RBs already run crazy hot as it is. Sure, it took it all like a champ but something about driving these cars in the ridiculous heat/humidity bothers me and makes me feel like I'm asking too much of it. I'm just me being weird and treating the car like a living thing with feelings; I'm mechanically sympathetic to a fault. Instead I was mainly driving something else around - a KX4(silver) 2001 X-Trail GT, that I acquired in May. There's a few different flavors to choose from with Xs, but visually it's the Nissan version of the Honda CR-V. Mechanically it's a whole different story as this, being the top-trim GT, has an SR20VET mated to a four speed auto and full-time AWD! It was a very affordable buy in exceptional condition inside and out, with very low mileage...only 48k kms. Most likely it was owned by an older person who kept it garaged and well-maintained, so I'm really happy with how it all worked out. It literally needs zero attention at the moment, albeit except for some minor visual touch-ups. I wanted something quirky, interesting, and practical and for sure it handily delivers on all three of those aspects. I was immediately able to utilize the cargo and passenger capacity to it's full extent. It's a lot of fun to drive and is quite punchy through 1st and 2nd. It's very unassuming -in the twisty bits it's a lot more composed than one would think at a glance- and it'll be even better once I get better tires on it(yes, it's an SUV but still a little boat-y for my liking). So...now I have two golden-era Nissans in silver. One sports car and one that does everything else; the perfect two-car solution I think👍 The rest of the trip...I was able to turn my stressed brain off and enjoy it, although I didn't quite get to do as much as I thought. I did some interesting things, met some interesting people, and happened into some interesting situations however, that's all for another post though only if people really want to know. Project-wise, I went back to Mine's again to discuss more plans and am hoping to wrap that up real soon; keep watching this space if that interests you. Additionally, while working in the tormenting sweatbox that is the warehouse, I was able to organize most of the myriad of parts that my friend is storing for me along with the cars, and the 34 has a nice little spot carved out for it: And since it can get so damn hot in there, that made it all the more easy to remove all the damn gauges that have mostly been an eyesore all this time. Huzzah. I was standing there looking at the car and said 'f**k it'. The heat basically makes the adhesive backing on the gauge mounts more pliable to work with, so it was far less stressful getting this done. I didn't fully clean it up or chase the wiring though; that will happen once I have the car in closer possession. Another major reason to remove all that stuff is to give people less reasons to get in my car and steal s**t while it's being exported/imported when/if the time comes, which leads us to my next point... ...and that is even though it's time in Japan is technically almost up since it's a November car and the X would be coming in March, I'm still not entirely sure where my life and career is headed; I don't really know what the future looks like and where I'm going to end up. I feel there's a great deal of uncertainty with me and as a result of that, it feels like I'm at a crossroads moreso now than any point in my life thus far and there are some choices I need to make. Yes, I've had some years to consider things and prepare myself, however too much has happened in that time to maintain confidence and everything feels so up in the air; tenuous one might say. Simply put, there's just too much nonsense going on right now from multiple vectors. Admittedly, I'm struggling to stay in the game and keep my eyes on the prize. So much so in fact, that very recently I came the closest I ever have before to calling it quits outright; selling everything and moving on and not looking back. The astute among you will pick up on key subtext within this paragraph. In the meantime I've still managed to slowly acquire some final bits for the car, but it feels nice knowing there's not much left to get and I'm almost across that finish line; I have almost everything I'll ever want for my interpretation and expression on what it is I think an R34 should be. 'til later.
    • Thanks for that, hadn’t used my brain enough to think about that.
    • Also playing with fire if they start to flow more air down low than what the stock twins can. It's not even up top you need to worry, it can be at 3000rpm and part throttle and it's getting way more flow than it should.
    • Any G40/1000 or G40/1250 results out there?
    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.
