Slowly but surely - Will have news next week. As for 450HP ...... maybe a bit optimistic now I know a bit more. The mods would make the car 450 HP capable, but with standard internals and the boost needed to get to 450, the donk woudn't last long - So 17-18 PSI is the max I will run it at. Can go up to 22-23 but...

Stay tuned,,

Hey ppl,

Put the car on the Dyno today for an initial tune. Dowloaded a EMS map from a similar car as a start - Results look promising. Stilll a bit of work to go tho.

Run 14 PSI with crappy cat ( the hi flow one will be available in 2 weeks)

Got up to 220rwkw.

With more EMS tuning, Hi Flow Cat and more boost (18PSI) should hit the 260rwkw mark. I'll be happy with that. There's a few more things to do to....

It's a totally different car to drive - The turbo makes an awsome sound when spooling - Boost comes on at 2300 RPM. Def need new rear tyres & new clutch soon...

Also, am running the turbo in, so no silly boost or anything. I'll go back in a week or so, give my report from driving her around for a bit, put the cat in, wind up the boost and see what she pulls then.....

More to come...

PS Freakin Turbosmart Supersonic BOV is one loud Mutha Farka - anyone knwo how to turn down the volume on one of those babys ?? Shoulda got a plumb back jobie.

Hahaha i got the same BOV as u, im pretty sure. its bloody loud! I dont think you can turn it down and why would you want to? The louder the better!!!:uh-huh: :uh-huh:

So what are these HKS SS Turbines?

What do you exactly mean by that?

I thought a T3/4 Hybrid was using your origional T3 Housing with a different compressor housing T4.

HKS SS Exhaust housing?!?!? I've never actually heard of an SS Housing.

Ended up using a GCG Hi Flowed R34 Turbo - new performance bb core and upgraded (steel) compressor and turbine wheels. Rated at 500HP.

Yeah - I think so - the 500. Mark from Hills took care of all of that for me - I know he had to send it back once to get a 1 bar wastgate put on it.

Re; full boost- I haven't paid that much notice to be honest, it gets there so quick now, I'm watching the road mostly, not the boost guage. Let me drive it round a bit more and I'll let you know. I do know that boost starts just after 2000 RPM - The tubine spinning up sounds awsome.

The clutch is usually the first thing to go when you give it more power, mine only lasted 3 days when I increased the power, hopefully my twin-plate should go the distance.

Go for something stronger than you think you'll need cause the clutch always takes a hammering.

I went the xclutch 9 button ceramic ferride sprung clutch with 2500 lb pressure plate. I would have gone a twin plate if I had the time and dollars to source one. I need mine as a daily driver to from work, and was scared the clutch wasnt going to get me to work, so I stretched the budget just enough to get this done. Damn shame there wasnt a second hand twin plate handy at the time, as I can see this one protesting in the not too distant future- fingers crossed.

Yes I know a few people who went the same path, and while they are a good clutch I do not think they will hold up under the punishment of 300+rwhp. They are however very easy to drive, but my twin plate only took a couple of days of getting used to. Although second-hand twin-plates are becoming more common they are quickly snapped up, due to most people frying the factory one.

    • (it is a brand new ported mellings pump) I suspect the lack of pressure is due to the leak. It was *not* that low in other logs of oil pressure in the past. It wasn't that hot either, but not far off.
    • Would a Mellings oil pump be a viable option  From my time with a LS, and talking to tuners and LS specialists, the "weak" OEM oil pump is one of the first things they recommend to swap out if I was going to give the engine any high RPM I opted for a Mellings high volume, with the high pressure springs and I never had a issue with it Cost wise they are not expensive in the scheme of things
    • Just bought a 2002 Stagea 250tRS VR-X Four AERO VQ25DET and spent the last two weekends cleaning and detailing it.. still have to do the wheels and the engine bay but the rest of it came up nice. Imported 2011 to S.A. and I'm the third owner since it was imported. I met the guy who brought it over, he went to Japan and picked out the car, bought it and ordered the wheels. He also gave me a list of stuff he did to the car with receipts. Coil overs (I have the original springs), 3" exhaust from the dump pipe back no cat, Custom dump pipe,(I have the original exhaust), Plenum spacer, 18" custom Work XSA wheels (need restoring, I've made a start..), Shift kit put through the 5 speed tiptronic auto, TV and menus/screens changed to english, Australian DTV tuner installed in rear. I've just had four new discs and new pads as well as all the fluids including the brake fluid replaced. I have all the receipts for the last 15 years and the import papers in a nice folder. Car looks great, goes like hell but fuel economy is not a thing lol.. pics next..
    • I ended up in this rut again lol, and used a shit ton of filler. One thing I can't understand is, even after using a big long block and going in long X pattern strokes, I always end up at bare metal again with no filler, and my repair started at one end of the door and now I've chased my tail to almost the other end of the door. I was thinking of hitting the panel with a hammer where it might be a high spot and making everything low then filling it, I did this on a small section on my other door by mistake and I think I fixed it lol. Is this a bad idea? The other thing is with guidecoat, whether it's the powder or spray, after I sand all the guide coat off, it doesn't reveal anything for me in terms of high spots and low spots and makes it especially hard when it's bare metal (at least in powdered form), am I doing something wrong here, or likely a high spot I keep going over and creating valleys? Lastly, stupid question but, is it possible that after sanding if I only sand over the filler area where I know to be a dent that it's impossible for me to dig into that dent? Unless there are other problems which I missed.
