Okay.

I spent a few hours today test fitting each and every guide to my car.

I needed to relieve a little bit of the aliminum from the edges near the support panel, but you can't tell but looking at them in the engine bay.

The reason I had to do this is beacuse the bending was about half a degree out. But alls well that ends well.

Adzmax and Red Baron will recieve theirs at the Take on Meet tomorrow, I've also included some sticky back foam for putting on the underside of the bonnet to eliminate marking the guides, as the bonnet gets very very close to the guides when it shuts. There's no way around this.

So, you people with the Nismo bars who are out of the state from me, they will be shipped on Monday after being carefully packaged to try to eliminate damage.

The standard bar people will be having their bars cut on Tuesday/Wednesday and the bending done probably Thuresday, and hopefully dispatch them Thursday afternoon for a Friday or Monday delivery.

I'll let you all know the status of the stuff as I do.

Cheers

Hey ppls.

Well, all the Nismo bars are either delivered or on their way.

Adzmax, Redbaron have been delivered in person, Muz and NJRs have left today and and Abo Bob (check your pm for the story) will leave tomorrow.

The standard and aftermarket bar versions will be measured up tonight on Daz's car and hopefully cut tomorrow or Thursday, and bent up on Friday (all going well) and they should leave early next week now, as I want to trial fit them to Daz's car before they leave.

I actually trial fitted all of the Nismo bars to my car on Saturday before I sent them.

Anyway, when you all do get the bars, please give me a trader rating.

Thanks

Hi ppls.

Measured up Daz's bar last night. The 'hack' bar has been ground some more and re-bent to suit the gaping hole that is the standard front bar.

I will be modifying the drawing today and shooting it off to my subbies to cut. Maybe, just maybe they will be finished before the weekend. Depends on the current load at my subbie.

I'll keep you informed.

Cheers

Okay ppls.

The Standard and Aftermarket bars are off being cut.

I've fine tuned them a bit and they will be perfect on your cars.

I expect them back early next week and the bending will be done pretty soon after.

Sorry I couldn't get them for autosalon I as promised I would, but sometimes your day-to-day job just doesn't allow you the extra time to play with your hobbies.

Sorry to those at AutoSalon who don't have their guides.

If I do get them back today, I might be able to get one to you but I'll let you know later.

P.S If you are in Autosalon with your car and really really need the guide, please let me know and I might be able to swing a favour with my subbies to do them this arvo.....

Tried to fit mine last night and had a small problem....Not with the guide itself but with the bolts where it is attached. Both bolts are made of very very soft metal and started to burr as soon as i started to undo them. As I don't really want to destroy them I didn't proceed any further. Anyone else had this problem?

I received mine yesterday thanks Bass. Looks good but haven't tried it on yet. Will let you know NJR 34GTT.

I presume the stick on foam is so the bonnet doesn't scratch on it? So I put that right at the front right?

Coxy. You have about 15 minutes to tell me what front bar you have.

Is it a standard one, Nismo (or Nissan Motorsport, like the one in my avatar or on my page on Aussie Wheels.com, check my sig) or an aftermarket.

The second batch is about to be cut TODAY.

PLEASE ADVISE ASAP

Okay guys,

The foam is to put on the underside of the bonnet, just next to the bonnet latch thingo.

Unfortunatly, because of the height of the grill bit on the Nismo bars, this is unavoidable.

I will post some pics in a little bit showing mine.

NJR

I have fitted and removed my guide about 20 times and havent had any trouble witht he bolts.

The correct bolts are obviously the ones that hold in the bollet latch mechanism.

12mm Ring Spanner should do the trick.

Getting them bolts back in should be by hand until almost tight to make sure you dont strip the thread.

DON'T use a shifter. They are are the enemy of bolts. They bolts are quite tight to get off as first, as they have most likely never been removed and are covered in a layer or factory paint.

Get a 12mm Ring Spanner and it wont be a problem.

Did I mention to you all that a condition of buying one of these guides was that you have to vote on AussieWheels.com and give me tens??

If you dont, the tiny little piece of C-4 explosive will explode 10 days after you recieve your guide, thus blowing the front of your car apart........

Click on the link in my sig if you want to keep your paint.

hmmm......I guess I dont have much of a choice???? hehe will do man!

Hey guys.

See the attached picture for the location of the foam.

Make sure to clean the area down with a little bit of thinners or something first, as the area will be well dirty and the foam may just fall off if you dont clean it first.

PS.

Don't forget the 10s on Aussiewheels

    • Hi all, Restoring r33 series 1 rb25det. All the heater hoses were on their way out, have replaced them and put it all back together. After testing I noticed a small leak from behind the head on the actual metal water line to the turbo when cars warm. I tried running a longer hose over it but it kept leaking...   I am about to take the (stock) manifold off again😔 to change the water line does any one have any lines they recommend? I was looking at Aeroflow Turbo Oil & Water Line Set but not sure what everyone else recommends. Car is completely stock but want to upgrade turbo eventually. it looks like ill have to disconnect a lot just to replace these lines so if there's anything else recommended to do please let me know. Thank you in advance!
    • From memory, on the R33 GTSt at least, while everyone says "It's not adjustable", I found when I changed clutches in mine, it just needed a small adjustment on the rod length. But be very wary here, as you could end up trying to push the pushrod in the master too far, or blowing out the slave.   Most likely though, if the master/slave isn't bypassing internally or leaking out, then the throw out is the wrong height compared to the fingers on the clutch, so when it moves to disengage the clutch, it isn't 100% disengaged. You can check part of this out too by jacking the car up, having the engine running, put your foot on the clutch and try to engage 1st gear. If it goes in pretty easy (Compared to the ground) and/or the wheels start turning a fair bit and it takes a bit too much brake pedal to bring them back to a stop, this is likely the issue.  I'm not sure if you can adjust the height of the forks etc in these though, it's been that long since I've touched any RB gearbox.
    • That's all good, I thought I was missing some interesting feature! Maybe @PranK can double check if that is something that is meant to be operating or not.
    • I hope that is not something that bad. From what i remember he said that only first gear is "hard" to get in and that he has couple of ideas what to try next but idk 😕  hope it is not gearbox out. I will let you know.
    • If it's not the hydraulics, it is probably gearbox back out. Usually as per @Duncan's post, or otherwise associated with not getting the throwout fork positioned correctly. All the way up to catastrophically bolting shit back together without it being aligned properly and wrecking the clutch/input shaft/flywheel/something else.
