After replacing my steering wheel r34 gtt, the indicators still stay on after turning. I barely even moved the clock spring, maybe a few degrees up and down. Does anybody know the exact procedure to realign the clock spring? Thanks

I think from memory you gently rotate it one way until it stops, then you rotate it in the opposite direction( taking note of the alignment triangles as they pass each other ) counting the number of rotations until  it stops again. Then divide the number by 2 and rotate it back again that number and line up the two triangles and your done.

I tried that, it didn’t work. It was 5.5 full revolutions from one side to the other. So I spun it 2.75 revolutions and aligned both the arrows.
does the clock spring have a fuse by any chance?

Not that I am aware of !

Pin on the top of the clock spring aligned up with he reviving hole in the back of the steering wheel ?

Seems a little strange it not working !

Ive got a R34 auto triptronic steering wheel on my R33 with a R34 auto clock spring in it !

Bro I went to someone I know and got it sorted for peanuts. Inside the clock spring there is also another green plastic thing you need to align too, and I did not know that.  I was just aligning the black face of the clock spring . I feel like an idiot

How did they fix it? Writing here just incase I need to do this. I thought you're never supposed to rotate the clockspring because it can brake the wires inside or is this relating to the steering angle sensor?

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
