  • 4WDEBT changed the title to RB25DET noise? Anyone know, I ain’t no mechanic but am a worried owner

remove top front camshaft cover and make sure your timing belt is not shredding its self. Or get a very long screwdriver and put the handle hard against your ear and use it like a doctors stethoscope to track where the noise is coming from

Usefull advice. But I doubt the guy who posts a video asking what a noise is is capable of resetting the timing correctly after taking the timing belt cover off. 

Was that the noise though? They would have replaced all belts and tensioners if doing it properly, which is a good thing. Just doesn't answer your initial question about what the noise was.

I’m guessing it was a belt, no more noise now that it’s been replaced! Also I tired the water trick that you had said to do and it ended up going away but coming back at a later date!
