RB_CEF
Hey guys just wanna know how much power and boost I can push my 20det to before seeing problems with stock headstuds and gasket. I’ve got 130psi on all 6 cylinders and have all the supporting mods to make over 250kw exept head studs and gasket so for now what numbers am I looking at? GTSBoy
Le sigh. Let's say that I have personally seen RB20s do over 260 rwkW unopened. Let's also allow that that was 15-20 years ago and these engines are now at least 30yrs old. Who knows whether your head gasket is as good as 20s typically were 15+ years ago, or if it has suffered a few years of running with not enough tension on the stud nuts, or any of a dozen other things that could cause it to not be as good as they used to be? So, just chuck 30 psi in it and see what happens. 2 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483967-rb20det-powerboost-peak-before-head-lift/#findComment-7969297 Share on other sites
TurboTapin
I ran an RB20 with stock head gasket and bolts at 20PSI/273rwkw for two years. Was still running great when I pulled it out at the beginning of this summer. 1 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/483967-rb20det-powerboost-peak-before-head-lift/#findComment-7969317 Share on other sites
