R32 Skyline Interior Door Light Issue

Hey guys, I'm having an electrical issue that I can't seem to figure out.

So my interior light works fine in the on and off position, but when it's in the 'door' position, the light won't turn on when the door is open.
The only time the door light on my dashboard works is when the car is on.

I've attached a video down below, hopefully it explains my issue. Any insight to what it could be would be great.

Could it be? The door light won't even turn on when I open the passenger's door? Are they all wired together so if one fails it all fails?

Alright then.....broken wire.

Grab the wiring diagram and follow the wires. You'll find it.

Thanks for the help! I'll get to cleaning the switches and inspecting the wires tomorrow. Appreciate it!

Any update on this one? did you manage to get it fixed? 

 

i'm having the same issue with my r34 and i believe its to do with the smart entry (keyless) control module but cant be sure without forking out to get a replacement

I did end up getting it sorted, as GTSBoy said, there was a corroded connection and wire that needed to be replaced. I ended up taking out the light assembly, giving everything a good clean and re-soldered the old joints, and it came out good.

And R32 has none of that smart nonsense that the R34 has. It's all simpe stuff on the older car.
