So I thought I'd post a separate DIY for changing the shocks/springs in your V37 rather than hide it in my build thread like most stuff.

In my case, I was doing this job to swap the factory shocks/springs out for a set of BC Racing DS from Just Jap (https://justjap.com/products/bc-racing-coilover-kit-ds-ds-infiniti-q50-v37-14-current#description), but the procedure would be the same for replacing the factory ones or installing any other aftermarket option.

You can see the front struts are complete (I chose rubber top mounts, there is never any reason to use pillow ball mounts in a car with double wishbone, even for racing they just get noisy), but you will need to re-use the tops of your rear shocks which means you will need to disassemble them.

I measured the factory Ride height from centre of wheel to the guard as 380mm front and 400mm rear. If your new springs are adjustable height you will want to consider whether to leave them as delivered or adjust them based on those factory heights.

So, first, jack up your car, and put it on good stands at all 4 corners. If you aren't confident with that then close this thread and book a mechanic to do the swap for you, will probably take them about half a day.

Also, you will need to remove the rear seat to get to the rear strut tops. I already had the seat out so don't have pics of that procedure, but the base lifts up from 2 clips that you pull forward, then the rear of the seat comes out in 4 parts. Remove the side sections first (1 bolt at the bottom and then lift them up and out of the hook at the top. Then tilt the 2 main seatback parts forward and unbolt them from their brackets either side.
