Rann is a dumbphuck

But anyway, the Summary Offences (Misuse of motor vehicles) Ammendment Bill was introduced in 2002 but I can't remember it even being reported by the media.

Looking at it I don't think its terribly unfair... sustained wheelspin, fair enough... ripping up an oval, fair enough.... engine or tyre noise that disturbs other people, thats drifting, burnouts or the morons that do 5000rpm down Rundle St, fair enough.... racing or speed testing, as long as you don't admit anything and arent caught doing anything toooo bad (dickheads speeding around suburban roads dont count, they deserve getting caught) it shouldnt be too hard to get out of it.

In any case, there is no provision to sell the vehicle unless you dont pick it up within three months of the impoundment ending

Haha.. steve's posts are a crackup.

instead of polititians wasting there time cracking down on road laws and pretending that cracking down on imports savelives.. they should crack down on the telephone sales cold calling.. Ive had 4 calls in the last week, some indian probably calling me direct from New Delhi asking for the Office Manager, then asking if i want to change the business telephone plan.. After i say in 4 different languages we are happy with the service we have already have, they abuse me in some sort of terrorist accent and they hang up on me!

Make a law that bans cold calling telephone I says.. that would be a bloody good use of polititian time!

and NSW, and WA.. although I think NSW was the first.. All the worst shit in this country originates from NSW

Steve has a good point.. bugger me if I'd be stopping and gently pulling over if you thought your car was going to be compounded and sold from underneath you. Its just going to result in worse incidents in some cases.

They generally need video evidence though to be able to take the car off you, I think that is what happens up here anyhow.

I think they got rid of it in NSW?

You're laws are even worse than we have in WA now, the first time here the car is 'only' locked up for 2 days.

mate, you were probably lucky - his son/daughter may have an import, which only resulted in a warning for you. Many motorists in SA get pulled over and canaried for no apparent reason.

I was kinda lucky too, still got a fine but no defect:) I got pulled over a month ago for speeding, fair enough didnt put up a fuss, cop seemed pretty cool. I thought i was defected for sure but he just seemed happy to give me the fine. he did have abit of a look at my car too!

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
