Bass Junky
I'm considering that. Makaveli. Check the first thread for a full description. Price should be somewhere between $100 to $150 depending on many things. Are you in? Bass Junky
ICE. You are already in. Nobody is late yet. I haven't even made the prototype for the R34 yet. Look's like I will have different ones for R32 and R33! I don't think I will be ready for payments for another month yet, so don't worry too much. Bass Junky
Okay, Update time. Yesterday I went and bought some P.V.C pipe, 3 inch in diameter, which I am going to heat up and bend to make up a dummy pipe to take to the fabricators. This will give them a better idea as to a couple of things. It was also suggested to me yesterday to use 3 inch pipe the whole way and simply reduce the diamter with a reducing hose from 3" to 2.5". This is sounding like a good idea because if somebody goes a changes a turbo with a bigger mouth, all they would have to do to the inlet duct is change the reducing hose. If anybody feels this will be a problem, please let me know. I think that if the reducing bush has a resonable angle on the step that it will be fine. Any problems, please post, if you don't have a problem with it, please don't post as this thread is going to be obscenely long soon! ed
Another idea is maybe to let people choose rubber or silicon reducers? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/51709-group-buy-afm-to-turbo-duct/page/7/#findComment-1038065 Share on other sites
Bass Junky
I'm probably going to offer the ducts as kits, with/without hoses and with/without BOV and PCV pipes. But more in this later. AnFz
awesome stuff! I would be up for one! HR31 -> RB20DET But i would like to see final measurments / pics etc to suss out if it will fit my application Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/51709-group-buy-afm-to-turbo-duct/page/7/#findComment-1039275 Share on other sites
Bass Junky
Thank AnFz, you have put the quantity at 50!! I need a couple of things please. Could somebody with a standard AirBox from an R32 and R33 please photograph and post a pic of the airbox. View needed is from the AFM outlet side. I know that the R34 air goes into the top of the box, through the filter and into the AFM, and I think that the R33 and R32 air goes in the bottom, through the filter and out the top. Please post a pic or two to help me out. BASS OUT (P.S I had a look at the Apexi POWER INTAKE kit, and it costs from $500 up, plus freight! The Power Intake is basically what I'm making now!) Bass Junky
Hey Guys. Just took my jig and the pipe that Jager lent to me (THANKS JAGER) over to my fabricators and they are going to make up a prototype for me. May not get it before the cruise but I'm hoping I will. I've got an R33 and R32 rubber pipe here and from what I can see, the section immediately before the turbo is the same, with the BOV and PCV return bits in the same spot, but the actual location of the AFM is different. Looks like each one will be a different pipe. Shithouse. Oh well, just makes it more fun. I've decided that the hoses will come from Shift Performance and these will be in Blue. I know that conflicts with some stealth concepts but they seem to have the right stuff at the right price. They also have red versions of the hoses but they are more expensive. More about this towards the end of the project. I don't yet have firm prices as I'm waiting for the prototype to be made up to recieve a price from my fabricators. I have prices on all other bits though. You will use your existing hose clamps from the AFM and Turbo, and I can supply extra clamps for the silicone hose (one for AFM and one for Turbo). As we are going to have to cut the BOV and PCV return pipes back about 20 mm each, I will also supply the silicone (or rubber, depending on what sizes are available) hoses and clamps for these. As you can see, this is a fairly in depth project. Anyway, I'm going to be anxious until I get my prototype either just before or just after the cruise in Melbourne, so hopefully I will be able to show people my wares soon. Bass Junky
Bob, I'm gonna put you down on the list anyway, because I know the prices are going to be irresistable and the quality will be second to none. You can always pull out later. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/51709-group-buy-afm-to-turbo-duct/page/7/#findComment-1040178 Share on other sites

Bass Junky
I seem to be Whoring my own thread. Okay, I need a little help and the use of an R32 and R33 Skyline for a Saturday morning. I need to do what I did to my R34 and make up a jig for my fabricators. This will involve you coming to my work on a Saturday morning for about 3 to 4 hours and helping me remove bit of your engine bay in order to remove the rubber duct and weld some rings together to make the jig. You would preferably be a bit hands on so we can get it pulled apart before 10am as that's when my fabricators go home, and so we can go home and wax our cars for the cruise. This will happen on Saturday the 15th (Day before the cruise) That's an R32 and R33 with STANDARD AIRBOXES fitted, or at least bring your standard airbox for the day. Thanks, please let me know.
