Hey!!

Im not sure if this is heat related or not, as the temp guage on the car was slightly below half way, but i stopped the car after driving for bout 1 1/2 hours, and when i went back to the car about 15 mins later, it kept turning over and wouldn't start straight away, it eventually started, and i drove about another 45 mins to the shopping centre, parked undercover and went shopping for bout 30 mins, went back to car, had same problem, would this be heat related? and could an intercooler help solve this problem?

thanks in advance for any help offered

I have the same problem. Cold starts is perfectly fine, but once stopped for a while the car finds it hard to run properly again (say if i go shopping for an hour or something).

But what ive noticed is that there is no oil pressure. If the oil pressure is upto the first marking, then the car is ok to go. Otherwise the car will just stall.

I think its heat related, but ive checked the oil and the level is fine. I changed spark plugs only 2000kms ago so they should be ok too. I am up for an oil change though, so maybe i should try a thicker oil? Anyone have any ideas?

    • I think this is still wrong. There is something crappy with wastegate priority (or the f**king absence of it) if you can't get below nearly double the base spring pressure. But if you're happy with what you've got, upload skid vids now.
    • So a further update for this one. Turbosmart were very gracious and took one look at the wastegate and said this is our original version, we will just replace the entire thing and send it back to you. So I fitted the new wastegate with its new revisions and took it around the block on spring pressure (9 psi spring). Appears the minimum it will do is about 16psi. Keep in mind this is only 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. I think the issue is fixed compared to what it was doing before however I'm happy to provide more logs if anyone thinks theres more to the story to uncover
    • Surely, if you have the indicator in hand and a pair of verniers, you can measure it up and draw your own cut template? I mean, it's got to pretty clear what has to pass through the hole, what has to sit on the outside face of the hole, and what has to be able to pass through and perhaps clip into place on the back side.
    • Man, I hope this one gets finished  i just randomly remembered it the other day and thought I’d check in.
    • Started sifting thru my brakes to decide which ones I will run on Clem   Made me think I should just put them all on Silver...for when brake fade just isn't an option   Should be able to bump rotor up from 343x32 to 348x36 off Supra. Not sure if the Supra annulus is right for the Alcons or APs but trying g to find a used Supra\M4 rotor to test fit The Alcons seem to gain 1-2mm clearance which all helps
