-_-

Not normally an angry person, but... umm, grow up eh? Ive been on forums for years and your the first person to say anything about that.

And no I didnt get the speed limiter done, I couldnt give a damn. Spend most of my time and money on the damn thing to keep something unique still around. And I dont see why you people are total assholes to me, quite frankly Im annoyed at it. Should be happy that there is Cefiro that still is drivable in this country.

Ive given it a good run, no denying... my first turbo car, and it wasnt the first turbo car I wanted. But it was practical, had the power and most of all it had the uniqueness that I love. But what breaks on it, I fix... So far have had no trouble with it.

Apart from getting defected last Friday, by driving into a defect station. Wasnt doing anything wrong, just wrong place wrong time. I havnt had to touch it. Now im gettin bits and pieces sorted out to get the defect taken off. Because its worth it... I have talked to quite a few people in Adelaide here about their Ceffy's and I dont get a problem. They all know who it used to belong to, well most of them, and they know I'm going to look after it.

So why the hate huh? This has to be the best place to ask for advice, parts or opinions and I cant get a damn thing. Whats wrong with helping someone out who just bought the same car that everyone else loves to own?

I admit the speed limiter thing was pretty stupid, and I have no idea why I even asked to be honest. Bit excited I guess...

I might of come across a total moron in regards to driving... but im not like that, I like the power.. but I dont just go out looking for people to show off too by sliding past them. My eyes, me driving past in the Cefiro is good enough for them. Ive had countless people yell out Ceffy! as I drive past. I got one saying Cefolo last Satuday. lol... I dont show off in it, I dont thrash the shit outta it, I love it for what it is... and I hope that it lasts for many years to come! Whether its mine or not...

Just wanna clear this up...

And yes... my mates do call me AdMan, so do most of my relatives... :)

Adam.

oh adman! i am just giving you a bit of jip, there is no hate there, relax my friend. i really dont care how you drive your cefiro that is up to you, every one is different, that is what makes this world interesting, just because i think one way does not make it right, you really shouldnt care what i think.

eg, i think that show so you think you can dance is the worst show in the world, but it gets the best ratings,

i must admit it is a little hard to get information from some people, but we did tell you how to remove your speed limiter, you just needed a pin out diagram. it took me about 20 hours of searching on the net, 10 hours of driving aroud mechanics and a bottle of rum to get my wiring diagram for my rb26 and i am not ready to give it out that quick.

take it easy adman.

I wasnt complaining... I was trying to explain that I need parts to get it off defect, I'm sure some people on here have those parts that I need. I just gotta find them, and what better way then to say what happened and what I need.

Must admit I have chased a Camry through traffic cos the Tail lights looks similair to a Cefiro's

but yeah, been asked plenty of questions about mine and it says in bold writing between the taillights

CEFIRO

Hahahh, the amount of times I've mistaken other cars for cefiros. I feel sooo ashamed when I realise it is not, everything from camry's to magna's ahahh. Then I remember the good thing about having a car that looks like a camry/magna at first glance is you don't attract the wrong kind of attention like the skylines/S-series do.

Yeah good point, The Ceffy's definately tend to attract less attention than a skyline/silvia

I might be going to route of a Cima myself if I can find the cash to buy one from a work mate...gotta love the pillarless look!

  • 2 weeks later...

I had some Dick in Mandurah ask me if my Cima was a Skyline...after he had walked all around it and read the badges on the back which clearly say

NISSAN Cedric CIMA

no were in there does it mention the word skyline...

Bumping up a 6 year old thread.

I find them quiet under the radar until you hit slight boost, next set of lights, some VN commo wants a drag race.....smoke the motherf**ker, NEXT set of lights, he sits over a car length back in opposite lane.

Yes, my car sounds funny at idle and when I take off it goes ACHUCHUCHUCHU, that doesnt mean your bog stock family car should start and lose a race against me.

I kicked some Lancers arse the other night, at the next set of lights I put my window down and was like "hey man can we have a re-run?? I missed 2nd gear back there" - got a blank stare and he put all the windows up. DENIED! you picked the wrong car to f**k with racer boi!

I too am guilty of chasing after old Camry's through traffic only to be let down by the realization it was NOT an A31 Cefiro.

I get some confused looks, usually when I beat someone, some skyline rubber neckers look, and some guy appeared at my window and said" I've got a cefiro too!" which was weird, but my cef is so patchy and maggot looking no one really looks too hard, that could change once I can be assed painting it

I havent even driven my Laurel on the road yet, and my next door neighbours spent a good half an hour hanging over the fence asking me and guessing what it was .... (commodore, falcon, magna, chaser, bmw, merc .... and a few others)

the bonnet was up, no engine and they ask if its turbo, or v8 .....

the day i put coilovers in it (which i havent adjusted yet from the s13 it was in before) they asked if the springs did anything as it was so low .... i pretty much said "naa dude, its only for show when the police pull me over" i shook my head, closed the shed doors and continued working ....

mind you, its nowhere near ready in my eyes to have the engine put in yet .... still got alot of cleaning and finishing off to do yet, then bring on the randoms on the street !

ive had mine called a chaser, a maxima, what the f**k is it?

got pulled over by a police van 6 of them get out, asked if it had a 2jz and what it was.

Best thing ever, cefs in brisbane arent rare but you dont see them like 33's so when i saw an old as couple driving one i was like f**k yeah, then by chance i was filling up my cef when the old people rolled in, i noticed 32gtr brakes, cooler and

i asked the guy 'is this yours, wahts in it?'

his reply 'no its my sons, im from nz this is the car he gave us to drive on our holiday, its got a 3litre twin turbo thing'

I shook my head and was like.... wtf and said 'can i look under the bonnet'

RB26/30 i was like wtf!!! and he gave it curry leaving the servo!!

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
