Will this oil cooler work?

I've got a Trust oil filter relocator kit sitting here doing nothing and just wondering will this work.

- Get oil out of the engine

- Move into the oil filter

- Exits oil filter

- Enter into the oil cooler

- Exit the oil cooler

- Gets back into the engine

Works or should I just go and buy a Trust/HKS kit instead?

it will work perfectly. i would put the cooler before the filter to keep the filter in better shape and operating at lower temprature.

i am looking for one of these myself.

I've been thinking about turning a stock R33 intercooler into an oil cooler....they're cheap, easily available and would have a decent capacity

I don't think a normal intercooler will be much use as an oil cooler, air and oil have a very different flow characteristics and the cores are built for these conditions..

Alright, now time to go buy an oil cooler and some 'lines. Do I need to use braided or some rubber hose will suffice?

Oil at 100 degrees C and 80 psi is a lot different to air at 60 degrees C at 10 psi.

Braided would be best to prevent damage but you can use either.

That's the way my system is plumbed

sump----> oil pump ---->remote oil filter (with oil temp & pressure sensors)--->oil cooler---> engine --->sump

yeah, it'll work man.

no reason why it won't...because that's how it's set up in cars that are equipped with oil coolers from factory.
