Ok, So while the turbo is off getting rebuilt - I took the Wastegate off too.

Can someone tell me what all these things marked are and what they do (in B-Man layman speak please)

Dunno what 'A' is for

'C' & 'D' are for plenum pressure - I guess one is in and one is out ?? What do you need in and out for ??

I know that 'B' adjusts the wastegate spring - but I can't really work out what happens when you tighten the spring or loosen it - Does a tighter spring open the gate quicker or slower ????

Thanks in advance

d manifold pressure, c is for a boost controller and allows you to bleed air in and increse boost pressure, a apears to have a bolt in it so leave it alone, the screw on the top will increase to tension in the spring as you screw it down and increase boost

'A' is just an alternative point where you can connect you boost controller to instead of 'C'. Connectimg the 6mm line to 'C' with a barbed fitting like yours probably means the fitting iis getting pretty close to the ground, hencu you can throw a 90deg air fitting in port'A'

So the 3040 is going back on...lol good man:thumbsup:

Thanks for the replies folks -

Ahhh - that explains 'A' - thanks Troy :D

So, If I just block 'C' and run 'D' to manifold pressure, then Adjust the spring ('B') - why do I need a boost controller ?

LOL..you dont:)

Did you get the boost problems sorted with the boost controller and 2835. I was thinking about it the other day when i was under my car...what diam line are you running from the wastegate to the boost controller then back to the pressure signal.

'D' should be 8mm, then 'C' 6mm. It makes sense, at work if we install a control valve then we always use a diameter smaller then the main line to get accurate control. If you are perhaps running 8mm line then its possible the solenoid cannot control the volume of air allowed by the 8mm line as opposed the 6mm line...after all we are talking about jack sh1t in the way opf pressures here so a fraction of nothing can often be a lot:(

But my AVCR with an 8psi srping is holding between 17-17.6psi using the EBC, its great, 8psi for day to day, then hit the preset an im getting pretty accurate 17psi

I dont know for sure but i wouldnt be surprised if that the reason the thing drops boost. Its a $5 fix to see if it is the problem. Have a look at the solenoid valve ...its a pi55y little thing and only has to bleed off small amounts of pressure to cheat/fool the wastegate...i reckon we may have found the problem...try 6mm lines from the wastegate to boost solenoid then from boost solenoid back to the T-piece that ties it into the pressure signal...if it doesnt fix the problem then ill buy you a beer as an apology:thumbsup:

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
