All that terrible stuff in there .... good luck to all of you and I hope it all turns out well for you all. I hate hearing about other peoples' misfortunes, though as has been said it really makes you appreciate what you have now.

All the best ! ;)

you guys wanna hear bad luck, went out with my mates one night, when a dog ran out onto the road, and i swirved got sideways and hit a parked car, mind you this is a rexy i bought like a month befor, insurance didnt want to pay so i had to fork out 22k to fix my car casue it was a write off, and had to pay out the other XF ford which was 4200, cost me 26thousand dollars for one night of cruising, my mates just said bad luck, and chipped in 5 k each

grandma passed away 1 week and then i got home from the funeral and got a phone call telling me my mate had committed suicide.... :D

cars and money are just that, cars and money....

but life cant be replaced....thats where it hits us hardest :(

sorry to hear about other ppls bad stories.... everything will work out 1 day :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Well you wouldnt believe it, this story is pretty f#ct but also funny.

My car was finished today! :> Yay the steering has been all fixed up, got a new paint job on the side, it look Smick & felt great. You would never know it had ever been smacked on the side.

So anyway seeing as i've just got my car back i just had to go for a drive of course, so i start booting around, 'yeh this is great fun' im thinking to myself, so good to have the car back. So anyway i go up to the road where i usually just boot it, i pull over, wait for no cars, up to boost to 12psi & go for it, now theres a bend in the road & i'm hitting about 110 when i go around it now, anyway i lost it... I have no tread on the rear & a locked diff & i got oversteer, i tried to correct it but it has already now hit the gutter & im just trying to get it to go straight, i pull over just shocked goin "f#ck, i cant believe this, i just got my car back, this is unbelievable" anyway the steering is bent on the left hand once again" I was able to drive the car back home which was about 1.5 km, & now i just cant get over it. I spose im thankful i've learnt a lesson & am ok, it was pretty fast & i did do a very good job for the speed i think seeing as its nothing worse.

From what i think at the moment i'll need, new front tire *the one that hit*

2 New rear tyres, *f#cking learnt my lesson about bald tires, was planning to get some new ones in 2 weeks but anyways...

Going to need the new steering rods & that which are bent

& Get the rim machined where it scraped.

Its so crazy, & so funny that i got my car back & within 10 mins its f#ct again lol, but this time it was my fault...

Ahhhh man, i just got NFSU 2 too & i dont feel like playing for a while i think...

I really hope i can control myself as in 'speed & corners = no' a bit more responsible once i get my car back again, i'll drop it in 2moro & they can work on it again... lol I gota pay for it this time tho :S

We only learn through pain & suffering & i think todays experience should be one i wont forget...

Owww & the scary thing was i had a premonition of me crashing on that corner when i was driving home from work today in my temp car *mazda astina Auto :s*, & then it totally happened, thats so crazy...

I've attached a pic of it's current condition... I spose its not bad to say someone who maybe totalled their car in a telegraph pole or something. In the few seconds that it happened i thought i might have hit a pole but just kept it on the gutter.

At times like these all you can do is laugh…

i think u should start a thread called "stupidity"

and add your last post to it.

Yeh no doubt about it, doing stupid things is what makes us human, & we learn though pain & suffering. I'm not really going to make myself feel really bad about it, i know what i did, i know the consequences, & i've lived & learnt... I luckily walk away a punished but smarter man…

Sorry to hear it mate. You know i don't think it's a case of bad luck, but a bad judgement call on your part.

I think if you can learn something from this you are lucky. Noone was hurt and the car is fixable.

Next time, save it for the track hey :D .

Yeh thats what i rekon sewid, It'll probably take a week to get the car fixed 'im goin on hols anyway’s so hopefully it'll be done by the time i get back' & i know roughly what it's going to cost me & i've got a bit stored away so its ok, defiantly a learning experience, i just hope i dont have to have any more of these 'learning experiences' lol. I should be so lucky compared to the other stories in this thread & what it could have been. Some poor people can die from simply loosing their car at high speed & arnt lucky enough to react quick enough to avoid other cars or telegraph polls, they dont even get a 2nd chance.

This thread has been really great for me, i've really appreciated all the stories, really makes you think about things. I'm honestly not really angry or kicking myself or anything, I’m obviously a bit disappointed in myself but that's ok, things will be all back to normal in a week or two & when i think about it, that's really getting off the hook quite lightly...

hmmm bad luck.

the last 6months I have had, my window smashed, new $2k laptop stolen, car reversed into. snapped timming belt, 4 bent vaulves. tailights , cd player, subs, speakers, spare tyre stolen. Had to replace door as they ***ed the lock, also ***ed the lock on the boot..

sure there is more just cant think of it now.. and that all happened within the last 2 months. except for the window and the laptop.

On a positive note, i think i may have found a way to make people realise just how horrible car accidents are.. The ad's on TV do very little. They DONT save lives and IMHO never will. If i had a camera on everything i went through last week alone, i dont think it would even be allowed on TV.... It would however, make young guys and girls (just like most of us, me included) think about their driving alot more.

When I did Drivers Ed in the states, they show you Red Asphalt. This movie/doco shows you footage of what happens to people in car accidents. the remains of people that didnt wear seatbelts, heads smashed over the reoad. faces that have smashed up against the windows. Still doesnt do the job though. people still drive the same.

genor8r, thats just plain bad luck - believe me you have my sympathy. I am also amongst the percentage of skyline owners that have been reemed 'leb stylez' unfortunately! I stakked my car first day in, $4K damage - pissing down rain, locker diff like u...1 bar boost, and tyres FLAT bald from the last owner and i just started driving manual. going about 70km/h I thumped it back into 2nd, floored it and the road was on a bit of a slope and the car just flicked around in a half second, and started doing 360's. Luckily i was doing the 360's and still going down the middle of the road and spun off most of the speed. I clipped a bus stop and all the glass from the bus stop exploded and shattered everywhere. The car must of done about 4 or 5 360's. Pretty lucky escape considering it could have went straight into a pole and totalled the car or more importantly could have injured myself or my mate. I guess with the damage to your car with the steering/wheel it could have been a lot worse like front ending the car etc so think of it as getting off lightly. Good luck fixing your car hope it doesnt cost too much.

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
