Nice!

Got similiar parts installed on my car already except turbo is a Garrett GT35 and boost controller is HKS EVC 3.

Do the internals first before it blows and save youself alot of labour costs from getting everything installed and then removed to get the internals done later.

Have YOU done your internals?

and youve got a GT35 inasnt?

:D dont make me laugh. You aint got a GT35 and you know it.

b33st - you can use RB26 rods, $400 and prepping.

I've got em in mine, and a lot of people do it as 26 rods are pretty decent for the buying price

Ok i've decided to be a little more patient and wait till i got the cash and do internals properly at the same time. Looking at forged rods (crower), Pistons (venolia) looking for people opinions on this. Also What rings, bearings, headgaskets (brands, thinknesses) are people using. Crank i am just looking at balancing and probably nitrating.

Plan is to buy parts then get someone to bolt the engine together for me.

OK i've held off a little but and gone the whole hog. Going to it properly and all at once, internals and all. Have perchased venolia 20 thou over pistons and am now about to purchase a set of rods.

i have priced up the following.

Crower $2100

Argo $2300

Par $1800

I personally am leaning towards the par one's as the price is good. Any one used these or have an opinion on them.?

Starting to get somewhere now. After 2 years of buying bits and pieces work has actually started on the car. Just finished lifting the engine out now. Was going the spend the day stripping it down but had no bolts long enough to attach it to the engine stand.

Got her on the stand and stripped down today. Bores look perfect!

I am away on holidays next week for a few weeks then it's time to get some machine work done. Will probably get the head sorted first, just a mild port new and some stiffer springs. Not too sure if i will do the valves too.

Engine is at the Machine shop now.

Head is getting ported, tomei springs and cams

block getting bored, honed and o-ringed.

Everything is to be balanced (standard crank, Argo Rods, Venolia pistons),

using ARP Head stud kit and standard thickness copper head gasket and ACL Bearings.

Time for another update.

My Engine is now completed and will be picking it up from the engine builder some time this week if i can find the time.

I ended up shelving my Venolia pistons as didn't want to run the clearances that they specified and also wanted to drop the comp at little, CP pistons have gone in in their place.

Also didnt go with the copper gasket just a cometic MLS.

Heads ported, new tomei cams and springs, new guides also but reused the standard valves.

I can't belive this is taking so long but at least it is progressing. I just hope i'm back on the road by christmas.

    • So sadly the fuel pump etc was not it. The pump and filter is new and it is still cutting around 4000 rpm. A read something about ABS/TCS (engine is from stagea and ECU too so no TCS) and i dont know for 100% that my car has ABS. It has ABS "cube" in engine bay but i dont think it works(or at least from my braking experience). Can be something like that?  I will be driving the car next week to Nistune tuner to properly see what is wrong...
    • the Tomei LSD fluid with lsd kit. frustrated that it was shaking the car to crap and affecting everything else negatively, I pulled the diff last night, and removed the lsd carrier, could not find anything wrong, however it seem to be 100 locked up acceleration, and deacceleration, wondering if they sent me a 2 way not a 1.5??  either way I installed the stock open carrier back in place. test drove everything smooth as butter again. no shake, shutter, random, what felt like clutch slip and grab or drive shaft play, etc. something differently wrong in side the lsd. I might bother taking it apart (if possible) to figure out what's going on inside this carrier, as bought too long ago to return.  only draw back is its back to a one wheel wonder.
    • If there's oil in with the clutch, I hope it finds its way out even if that hole has a cover/grommet 😛 I don't want oil near my cars clutch! 😛 Interested to hear the answer about covering it, I'm assuming a bung for a gearbox from another car that has a grommet to suit.
