1989 Hr31 passage gt

ok this thing is rare for those who dont know what it is...its a 4dr pillarless r31 skyline jap import with ECCS red rocker cover RB20DET..power windows/mirrors electronic adjustable dampers in the shocks(hard,medium,soft) HICAS steering 4WAS(ABS) IRS,Climate Control(aircon needs re-gas though) Automatic...electric bucketing/lumbar support in driver seat, Blackwidow alarm system....pretty much an r32 in an r31 shell...its 89 model the last of the r31's..

MODS

Turbosmart in cabin gated boost controler

comes with a set of chrome 17" GZero's and a set of jap silk 15"rims(silver)

exhaust:dragpipe from turbo(no dump pipe)into 3" mandrel bent stainless steel with high performance high flow drift cat from japan and a DRFT stainless/titanium tip muffler

VG20 ballbearing turbo have had this thing out to 1.6 bar about 22psi

VR4 frount mount(has been piped up temp...for dyno test needs to have proper piping done)

the car will come with a heap of spares including an almost complete rb20det which came out of a car that made 165rwkw on the dyno,the motor will need a new oil pump,timing belt tensioner gear,a piston lol, and a new set of valves...the head is fully ported...i suggest gettin new valves and putting it on the engine thats in the car, comes with 4 spare doors with windows and all working internal electronic mechanisms,spare boot,spare dash...heaps more stuff i have here for it which you will find hard to get.

it HAD a full system in it but it was taken out and swapped for an rx7

    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
    • Just throwing around ideas, does it need to be in the compressor cover? Why not the hot side piping?
    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)
