It was either keir wilson or some other regular drag racer that compared twin 2540's on a rb26 and it was laggy as hell compared to a the twin 2530 setup. As for my GT30 against the 2540 my GT30 is just getting into its efficiency zone while the 2540 will be running out of puff in singlle forum. But whatever floats ur boat, and for $1600 yes its a good buy!!

LOL...forget twins on a 2.6L, its a single in a 2.5L:)

As for effeciency range, i agree, but at the end of the day you only run with the power you think you can safely handle with a std engine. Most ppl agree its around 250rwkws if you are ringing its neck at the track, up to 300rwkws for a street driven car.

So two cars with std internals, both making around 250rwkws, you can make more, sure, but ...

this is interesting, i have heard nothing but bad reports about the 2540 and all reports hint towards the lag factor for a turbo that is only a mild bolt on being too much. But then again there are ways to improve response. I think it does come down to personal preferances at the end of the day. One may chose a hks item and one may chose a trust, may have identical setups but the driving characteristics that each individual wants are different hence the difference in choice of turbocharger/setup.

The 2535,30 hks turbos rock all over the 2540hks as a street turbo.Buty im with you guys if you like it and it is at the right price buy it for sure.

As shown on these dynos results by hks HKS Dyno Graphs

Hks 2540

Power (PS)(2=squared)=340

BB?=yes

Trim=46

Comp Inducer (mm)=51.7

Comp Exducer (mm)=76.2

Trim=76

Turbine Inducer (mm)=53.8

Turbine Exducer (mm)=47

Housing A/R8=0.64

I put my car on the dyno last night. This is the result i got with the 2540 installed 209.5kW at the rear.

The car has 3" exhuast from turbo back, front mount, stock ecu and 12psi of boost.

Planning to get fuel pump, injectors and tune pfc later.

Hey dvs80r throw this one in the ''RB25 turbo ugrade, ALL DYNO RESULTS'' thread.The more the merrier (Merry,merry'er,merrier cant spell).

    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
    • So 10/10 times that code is coil packs? I mean if that's the case ill drop the $400USD or so to replace them. I didn't know these cars threw codes before the issue became an issue.
