Since there isent going to be many more track days till the end of the year I thought I might get myself a pocket bike and have some fun on the weekends with one since my friend and a couple of his friends from work have some and they go hooning on the weekends.

I have been doing a bit of reading and there seem to be a few different models around all around 49cc but weigh different and have different top speeds, Tank capacity and a few other little differences, altho they all come from similiar places in China.

These places sells some

http://www.pocketracer.com.au/webcontent8.htm (This one sells modified ones that are preety sick)

Even MattR in SAU was selling some to SA guys for only around $440 which seems a little cheap.

Who has one and know a bit about em?

Do they need to be registered etc?

If you are after one I suggest looking at this site.

I know Adam and he is a good bloke plus he told me he has a container of Water Cooled Bikes that do 90km/hr. Prank and I are associated with them.

If you are after a cheaper one .. mine is for sale as I want to get a Water Cooled one.

It has been ridden 6 times and dropped once by a friend going 5 km/hr (Can't expect too much, he is an STI Driver)

I have a few spares (chain, sprocket, spark plug)

Was riding really well until I took off the rear wheel off and the brakes fell apart :)

But I'll get it back together soon.

Send me a PM if you're intersted.

for $250??? From where? it must be the mini of the mini range for that price

there's 3 size's, the price goes up with the size of course. these one are worth around $800aus(i believe its the smallest size). some guy from my work is importing one bulk load and worked out a deal. take's 6 wks to get here, in plain red, green or blue (jap style with decals and i think tool kit) the chopper just comes in black and silver. i am told they are capable of 70km's per hour.

Also he has sent me upgrade kit's. High comp 54cc motors, air filters, carbon exhusts, key starts etc...... theres a s**t load of upgrades.......

you think i'll need a trailer on the back of my liner for this thing

They arent worth the , unless you have spare cash, and are after a good laugh. They broke in a few days. Fun none the less, waste of good money though.

How do they break exactly? There are already clubs that race at go cart tracks so there has to be some realibility to them.

Swordfish

The biggest engine for the pocket 2 stroke bikes seems to be the 50cc ones then you get the 4 stroke 74cc one which come with 4 speed gear box. Some of the choppers have a 107cc engine that can reach over 100 clicks.

One had a dodgy motor - need I say any more.

The other, little brackets ect broke that held on the plastics. Seat broke, dodgy wiring job on kill switch, which lead to awesome shocks through the fingers. – Just small things really. The other bike was just a pig.

I guess you get what you pay for,

a friend of mine repairs them for a supplier who sells the bikes at about 500 each. all i can say is they are cheap and nasty machines that break down way too often to even bother with.

if you do get one make sure it has a long waranty and the place wont go under in 2 weeks so you can acually claim on it.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
